Make sure your windows update is up to date. Sometimes you have to manually hit 'update' to make it actually go look for updates; because windows is garbage.
Also, make sure your system clock is synced. I know it sounds silly, but if it's even off by a few seconds, games can glitch out with certain things. And it's the same issue with updates. Even if you have it set to auto update or auto sync, windows sucks and doesn't always do what it's told.
If you use a VPN and have it turned on when playing NMS, you will not see anyone in the Anomaly even with MP turned on. So, if you're using one and want to see other players, turn it off at least while you're in the Anomaly.
yep this is 100%. If you're using a VPN you can't see anyone in the anomaly.
Thanks, this was the answer. I'm not happy that I had to deactivate my VPN.
I suppose I will just have to disregard the multiplayer aspect of the game if my only recourse is to otherwise disable my VPN.
Well, the good news is that the multiplayer aspect of the game isn't very robust, anyway. You won't be missing much unless, of course, you wanted to play alongside other people. Or ship-watch on the Anomaly, which I like to do.
