Wiring looms should probably be craftable
I propose we, as a people, devise a way to craft our own wiring looms and free ourselves from the shackles of Big Loom!

You need looms? I know a guy that can get you as many wiring looms you want. Just say the word.

You can edit your Settlement with the Save Editor to produce anything as they usually turn out some useless junk. In one of my saves it made Wiring Looms.

But, after a while, you make enough units that buying them at space stations is a non-issue, really. Otherwise, it's an early game challenge only.

if you get mods for your gun or ship, you can disasemble them for wireing looms in most cases. i found using the glass from sentinals works best. easy to get them in bulk, and the mod stats are decent, tho the looms you can get from them are a good encouragement

There are so many collectable upgrades that dismantle into wiring looms, there is no need. By the time I reach galaxy center, I am swimming in wiring looms

They are not craftable for a reason. You need to start making money and that is a lot of the reason why. You need to start paying attn to the cost of things at SS so you don't pay too much. It's actually clever of the devs to make a few key things noncraftable. You can also decon items you don't need right meow and get them so, like with most in the game, you can approach the problem from several directions.
tl:dr - it's just fine and after lo these many years, ain't gonna change.

I agree. Even if HG followed past precedent and they made WLs craftable, they would offset the change by making some other "key" item not craftable -> maintaining the status quo.

What else do you have to spend money on? There's nothing. Find a system where they are cheap and buy 50 or so of them. I found a system that is -53%. Making them pretty much free. For every two you buy the 3rd is free. Once you get your upgrades you don't need them anymore anyway. I've have 50 sitting in storage forever and never touch them. You don't need them at a certain point.

They should be more spendy just to help spend the units you never need.

They are pretty cheap and you can get them at any space station. If you make looms craftable, what if the formula includes a mess of rare items you would never want to carry around? Then it would be even more of a hassle making looms than buying them. And you are no better off.

I found a mod that gives us the recipe at the Space Anomaly, It's at Nexusmods

It doesn't work in this Expedition. It works in the normal game in previous expeditions after they become normal games. Like the expedition prior to this one.
