Living ship disappeared
So I just finished the questline to get the Living Ship again (I have done it on three other saves besides the one I just completed). After a week of working on this I got to the end, installed all the parts and the soul, got the line about how it might bond with me and follow me...and then it disappeared. Nothing in my quest log, no living ship at the wreckage site (a wrecked Hauler was sitting there instead), no new ship on my freighter. I tried to restore from the earlier save but that was when the Hauler appeared on the spot where I had been putting the parts on the "dying" ship to restore it. Am I going to have to go earn more Quicksilver and do this all over again?

this is a bug. if you reach the final site and you encounter no living ship just save and reload. then it should pop up for you

Not quite...

The old Living Ship had been there and was repaired by me. The glitch occurred after the ship had been rejuvenated.
After logging back in the Cracked Void Egg is in my inventory but none of the parts I used to repair the ship. There is no ship waiting anywhere. I made multiple hops back and forth through the portal but that didn't trigger anything. The quest doesn't appear in my Log. My Journal shows that I completed the quest chain but... nothing.

It looks like I am going to have to do Starbirth again if I want a Living Ship on this save.

that you have the egg in your inventory is a bug. if you have claimed the living ship it should be there. have you tried to call it via quickmenu or looked in your freighter ?

Yes, I have looked everywhere including at the site where I had repaired the ship. It is not listed in my Quick Menu and it does not appear in my collection of ships on my Freighter. There also is room for it in my collection as I had scrapped three ships before I did this quest chain so that is not the problem either.
I've done this quest a few times before on other saves and this is the first time it has happened like this. I'm more disappointed than anything else because that was a week worth of playing down the drain not to mention the Quicksilver cost.

that's strange. but if you wanna check it to 100% you can use the save editor, load up this save and look under the ship tab if it's there. this is just a tip

^^^ this is correct, you can create a new living ship in the save editor, and name it whatever you want, but you wont get a choice on colors
