Exosuit Defence Systems

So, there's nothing I can find online about it. I got an S-class upgrade for the Exosuit Shield, but I don't see any module for it. None in the usual spots nor in technology. It doesn't light up like other upgrades when placed near things either. Is it still working, or am I missing an Exosuit component?

Have you tried hovering over an empty slot and pressing E to install new technologies?
