I don't think this is based on anything in particular. Was there a "Stargazer" ship in Star Trek?
yes, absolutely there was...
one was NCC-2893, a Constellation class (in year 2326, stardate 38197.5)
one was NCC-82893, a Sagan class (in year 2401, stardate unknown)
one was NCC-2893-A, a Stargazer class (in year 2409, stardate unknown)

there may also have been a shuttle named Stargazer...

yes, there is some confusion about the dates... the info for 2893 and 82893 are from Memory-Alpha on fandom while the info for 2893-A comes from stowiki...

Thanks :) Someone knows their Star Trek stuff :) I'm not much of Star Trek fan so I didn't make the connection.
Lol, I'm watching Star Trek TNG and just finished the episode where the ferengi return the Stargazer to Picard.
yep! i didn't mention that Picard was a bridge officer on the first one at one time before taking over as captain after something happened... it was lost for a while, found, and returned... Seven of Nine was also acting captain on the Stargazer at one time... i'm not sure which one, though... i believe the -A used some Borg stuff in its construction and was the first to do so as a bit of experimentation...
