Autophage Camps/Multitools

I want to go to autophage camps to look for a cool multitool, but I forgot how to locate those. Anyone able to provide me with a refresher?

you can also make a base at the harmonic camp and use it as often as you like after you initially open it if you need to scrap ships for alot of units..more than regular ships like 16 to 34 million each.

Destroy Dissonance Resonators on a Dissonant Planet, they *sometimes* drop Echo Locators, or destroy a Sentinel Mothership. Dissonance Resonators are guarded by several Corrupted Sentinels and the fight can also trigger regular Sentinels.

You can locate Dissonance Resonators on your HUD like any other objects.

Tip: you can destroy Dissonance Resonators from a distance with your Mining Laser. It takes longer, but Sentinels may nor react if you do it carefully so it's a good way to avoid the fight if you 'd rather not fight the Sentinels.

Tip: however, if you do decide to fight the Sentinels and kill them all then subsequently found Dissonance Resonators will not be guarded and you will find some Sentinel loot laying around them.

sure ;) i use my nomad , it can scan for these resonators..i call them blades sry, you can zip around faster on planets that are harsh weather and never get out of the nomad assuming you have the environmental protections that you open up at the anomoly. get the advanced mining set up so you can also get shards while roaming around. I hit the blades from a little distance and can get either the mirror or the echo before getting swarmed by sentinels...take off and the sentinels will abate after a small amount of time and you can scan for another blade and contiue searching them for echos. echoes are rare but I usually get approx between 3 and 7 for an hour of searching a planet. 1 echo can get you a harmonic camp put a save beacon down so you can return to it after finding the ship and if you like the style of the ship you find set up a quick base and you can return there for more ship finding maybe an S class but you can scrap them lots of units ...also you can search for echoes over and over on that planet if you like. You need shards and mirrors to get the brain functioning in the crashed ship as well

I have a sweet planet that has no bad weather and is relatively flat and made a base at a sentinel pillar and I turn off the sentinels when ever i go there and can re supply shards and mirrors and echoes in peace...

I think the OP wants the autophage camps for the new staff multitools, not the camps for ships. Those, once you have gone through the tutorial mission for them are on a lot of planets but you have to have the correct item on your bar to see them. Stave hunting is pretty fun but the mission to set it up for your save is a bit long with a lot of fetching to get your level on that new faction up. If you are on a save that has done the questline then you can just pop the item but if you are on another save I think you have to do the questline again. Check your faction info and see if the autophage is there and what your faction level is.

Looking for those consoles with the multitools you can unlock, not the staffs.

This is actually a sound strategy in NMS, particularly early in the game. As someone has found out in another thread when he shot a Sentinel early on with his mining laser, just to see what happens.
