Settlement gifts?
When you, as Overseer, deal with a Visitor to the Settlement who offers a gift, when you accept the gift, where does it go?

I never see these in any of my Inventories, and AFAIK the Settlement does not have any separate Inventory (except for the 2 items of Settlement production output on the Settlement Administration interface.)

As far as I can tell, it's broken. The only time I've ever received anything is when I let the settlers go on an expedition. If it's successful, I'll receive a few hundred nanites.

The buffs are associated to your settlement's overall productivity. Any other gift is is just flavor text.

There is a limited number of settlement slots that show the buffs you have received. From what I can tell, the excess do get applied to your settlement, they just aren't "public list" worthy.

As you follow it, some visitor gifts do supersede existing buffs. While not clear, it seems that those old ones just disappear and are no longer active.

The Text says which positives are added and or negatives changed prior to executing the change. I honestly never play enough to remember my settlement stats to know which one is more beneficial when those 'gifts' come around. The gift is usually a trait of your settlement. Like Ice cream creation for morale, crunchy spiders instead of deadly spiders :)

Those are gifts to the settlement not you personally. They will effect production, maintenance or dept.

According to the Fandom wiki, gifts from Good Neighbors go into the player's inventory, but I have never found them in any of my inventories either. I was also wondering if there is a separate settlement inventory where these are found, but I have never seen one either. Maybe Mr, Bufferlow is correct and they only appear as one of the two items you receive. That is, they replace another item if they are considered better? If so, I would prefer some of the gifts more than what I get as my two items (that is, 4 Hadal cores rather that some cactus that I can grow outdoors at one of my bases).

Not the sort of gifts we are discussing. That is a different kind of interaction result.

That whole visitor gift thing hasn't worked for me since the day settlements were added. Never, not once, have I received the random item they supposedly were gifting.

Makes those particular results for the settlement timed-event entirely pointless because, in most cases, those "gifts" are the only thing involved....so you basically just waste your time going to the settlement to respond for nothing.

I always am thinking they'll fix it someday, but so far...nope.

Also, crazy how many of the replies you got when this thread was first made (a year ago); yet, literally, not one understood what you were even talking about.

I have never seen the visitors gift anything other than items for the settlement, which in turn just remove negative traits from the settlement, improving productivity. Never any inventory items.

I have never seen the back side of the moon, but it's still real.

The 'gift' of items (rather than a settlement specific reward/buff or bane) is a random possibility of what a visitor interaction at the settlement can possibly be.

There are quite a few different ones, but they are not particularly common as compared to the various visitors and events for the settlement itself. Possible gifts include, but are not limited to, Hadal cores, storm crystals, hypnotic eyes and even just a direct nanite gift.

Of course, as indicated above, you don't actual receive anything. Nor does it give the settlement any kind of bonus or loss. Making your choice just simply does nothing at all.

Yeah, some really DO present you with "Good Will Gifts", especially after the Settlement is fully built out with the programmed buildings.

But I have never seen the described gifts DELIVERED, either. Not to any "Town Inventory", nor to my own Inventory.
