[Edit] No cyto-phosphate with the Better Planet Generation mod
Hello there !

As title says : I can't find this element...
I tried on 3 differents planets with oceans. Dived quite deep, found amazing deeps with beautiful flora. Carbon, Salt, Oxygen... But no Cyto-phosphate.
I've been told I had to try the mineral with kind of medusas in it when mined, but again : no cyto-phosphate...

Any tip ?
Thx.

Edit : The mod "Better Planet Generation" is currently the cause of this problem.

It should be in aquatic plants, corals, etc. Usually around the coastlines I think and not deep dives?

Nevermind : it seems to be relative to the "Better Planet Generation" mod I installed.
A great mod, though, but it may have a problem with this particular element.

Most often cyto-phosphate is a 'secondary element' when 'mining' and always and only found in the plants of the oceans.

Since that mod totally randomized the procedural creation of a planet it is entirely possible to create 'freak planets' that have or don't have things.

This^ Be sure you are scanning all the minerals so that you are getting the secondaries. Mods shouldn't really affect actual materials (other than those that intentionally try to alter the tables to bring back old elements and such), just reskins and terrain modification.
Some planets will also have more of an element than others, so try a few planets before you disable. That's a really gorgeous mod, I enoy it as well :)

I tried 3 different oceans, on 3 different systems...

Besides, I just have read a comment in the mod's comment section that mention the same problem, so I really think it's due to the mod.
I'll try without, after doing a backup of my save folder, and I'll see...

Excellent, let us know the outcome please.

Okay, I just tried without the mod, on a planet I tried before with the mod.
And plenty of Cytophosphate...

So it is definitely the mod.
I hope the mod author will update his fantastic work.

I have edit the title here for better warning.

Awesome. Thanks for letting us know. I haven't used that mod in a long time. I think I used Fantasy Mod for the crazy terrain last time and I don't think it had any issues. Might look into that if it's still updated. With all the game updates, I haven't used mods in a minute!

Not true. I have found a plant many times on mountains and normal land that had cyto as prime element.

Without any mod ?
Strange : this element is known to be found in water flora...

It's common on scorched planets that use underwater minerals as normal minerals. Makes them feel like planets that have dried up.

I do not use mods with this game. None of them seem worth bothering with.

Without needing mods, It's everywhere underwater in the vanilla game. It helps to analyse rocks and plants and mine them until you find it. Analysis should show the potential elements but simply pan the mining laser beam at everything and it will reveal itself, usually followed by white jelly fish. The white jelly fish always threaten to attack and sting you.

It can be in huge numbers or less frequent depending on which planet ocean or lake you choose. It might be in underwater tunnels but usually is quite obvious when you find it. Once you find one you can easily identify others to mine more.

It was needed on the recent expedition 11 and found in abundance on some of the expedition route deep water planets. Usually you don't have to go very deep but just watch out for the jelly fish if your character is not very well protected.

Obviously, you did not try to mod your game...
There are plenty of mods that greatly improve the game experience (giving much more freedom in base building, for example, etc)
"Better Planet Generation" is one of them.

Anyways, that was not the point of this topic.
