Report a translation problem
Playing it now, as others commented generally (across platforms) it may have lost a few FPS but there are no actual playability issues. (2070 plus here)
It runs very well even though I don't play much NMS at the moment my impression is even as mentioned here much better than on Windows.
Code incompatibility is the main issue for Linux. If developers are using Vulkan or targeting Proton specifically, most games will run better on Linux.
Microsoft only maintains its market share through proprietary APIs, that everyone in game development is already using. Not because it makes an actual good product.
FWIW: it should be noted that NMS on linux requires either wine or proton... proton comes with steam... NMS is not a native linux program which is why it requires a translation layer like wine or proton...
FWIW2: currently my NMS [experimental] is using Proton 8.0-2...
In my experience, only a few games I've tried don't run under Linux, and only a few need any special tweaks to run. Most games (and most software) works better under Linux.
Windows is just incredibly bad at system resource management.
