If you state why or how it is unplayable for you, someone may be able to help you.
I can only suggest manually doing a verify game file integrity after every game install and update. Then shutting Steam down and trying again. Steam seems finicky on this issue.
how's it running?
i don't care about fps, just is it running ok for you?
So far, it looks pretty good. I don't have the patience for keyboard and mouse on this game. But it did open my Win save perfectly fine. Opened faster than Windows. I'll jump in more after I get a controller for it and tell it how it is then.
It did take a few moments for my keyboard and mouse to actually take commands. It didn't freeze up. I just couldn't move for a minute or so.
I don't think Mac ever allowed an Xbox Controller. It may change on the 5th or so but I don't want to wait.
Anywho, it's a 2.3 GHz i5, 8GB DDR3 RAM and Intel HD 3000 w/512 MB GPU...
Jumpin jiminey - no wonder why my Minecraft server is so slow...
Definitely.
I mean... I play lots of games with an Xbox controller on my macbook. Some require you to disable steam input but any game that supports controllers works fine for me (Except NMS)
To be honest, I'm gutsy enough to try it anyhow. You might be surprised. I think the i5 just might put you in there. The past gaming problems weren't actually because of the Macs but some other issue which I heard was fixed and probably even more so now. Update everything and try again.
Side-note: I couldn't get my PS5 controller working with the game either.
This reminds me of the last upgrade. You may have to go into the actual game and manually set it for your controller. We all had to do that on Windows. I couldn't get my Mini M1 to connect to the controller even though it added it to the bluetooth devices.
Try setting it manually in game to your specific controller.
Starting a new save to see if it would made a difference, was the same (It took 5 min after hitting the 'E' to initialize the new game till it was ready for me to do anything at all).
My guess is that they never tested it on intel Macs at all.
