Living Frigate problem, help would be appreciated

I built the Dream Aerial and I have it in my inventory. I've been pulsing around through space for a while now, but I have not encountered my first living frigate. I heard anomaly detectors are needed for subsequent organic frigates, but this is my first and I'm having no luck. I tried using an anomaly detector after a bit, but that didn't seem to help either.

How do I fix this and get my first living frigate?

I should add that I was not in a multiplayer party when I tried to get my living frigate, so I don't think this is the result of any multiplayer conflict like with missions

No luck, I'm not getting the event pop up for the living frigate :(

Do you have space in your fleet for new frigates? If you have 30 (the maximum) you will not get encounters.

I did have 30. I removed a few and warped to another system. However, I'm still not getting the encounter

How long are you waiting while pulsating and using the anomaly detector? Some people in this same forum posted some weeks ago about waiting like 10 minutes for a whale song. I myself have waited max 5 minutes. After that I can't be bothered and I return. Are you getting out of pulse drive when you receive some "regular" anomaly detected. If you do, you shouldn't.

I tried waiting up to 5 minutes in my last attempt. I ignored other anomaly encounters. I'll try again, but so far no luck

I just tried again. I was in pulse drive for 10-15 minutes with no luck. I tried a second time for about 10 minutes with no luck. :\

You might try having an 'Anomaly Detector' as well, according to the Wiki you should only need it after finding the first one, but might be worth a try for you, in your quest to find your first one.

Additional Information
The Dream Aerial can only locate one organic frigate on its own. After the first one, you have to have an active Anomaly Detector to find another organic frigate (you can only get one per system). Just pulse drive into nowhere and exit the pulse only when "Whalesong detected" notification is displayed - ignore all the other Rare Deep Space objects.

Did you restart the game after organizing your fleet?
If in proper standby state, the 'Spaceship Guide Message' will say 'Dream Aerial is dozing...'.
Any star system that is visible and ruled by one of the aliens should eventually be found.

For the first LF, you only need to have the Dream Aerial, for the following ones, you don't need it and you have to actively use an Anomaly Detector. Not just have it.

I did, but no luck. I never saw any such message in the Spaceship Guide Message :(

This is SUPER RNG. I had one in my bag for like 8 hours of gameplay before it popped. By then I had totally forgotten about it. Honestly, just leave it in your ship and go about your routine. Let it pop organically. You're just watching water boil at this point.

Is it really that rare for the first one? Everywhere I've read describes it as a fairly quick process

EDIT: Right as I posted, I encountered a living frigate :D It wasn't free despite being my first living frigate, but maybe it's because I used an anomaly detector again. Whatever the case, I finally have one. Maybe the RNG really is just that bad, or maybe something bugged somewhere
