Are All Tropical Planets the Same?
I just found a Tropical Planet (TP), and it's awesome!!! Constantly Raining, but No Environment Suit needed. However... it has Deadly Storms; Heat, Wind and Lightning. I got caught in a WhirlWind, and it started Bashing me against a Cliff!!! I wanna Live there :). LoL.

However... I only stay in Systems and on Planets I discovered; and this one was discovered 7 Years ago by someone else. (Note: Sooooo Cool the Game maintains that kind of Data!!!).

In any case... I want to start looking for an UnDiscovered System with 4 Planets and 2 Moons... with one Tropical Planet... 'If' in fact they are all the same, but I don't want to bother if the Living Conditions might be too Timid; so I can re-build there... and Find a New Settlement to Over-See.

And speaking of Settlements (In hopes I get positive answers above); Are 'All' Settlements already Created Out there... or; do some get Created When you use the Settlement Map Finder Thingy? Because if I do find the Planet I'm hoping for; I want to have a Settlement on the Same Planet... Near My Base... and 'Hopefully' near a Power HotSpot.

Hey... I'm not asking for Too Much... I'm just Entitled :)

No, all tropical planets are not exactly the same. Tropical is a name for a Lush biome planet, and the weather can vary from very mild to extreme.

As for Settlements, they are all already 'out there', like all planetary points of interest. The planetary chart just helps you locate them.

Great to Know... Much Thanx!!!

I guess I've got some searching to do :). Took me about a week to find the System/Planet I wanted to make home... then it took 3 or 4 days to find the New Place I wanted... I wonder how long it will take me this time; but this is REALLY the one I want... Honest :) ROFL!!!

As always... Thanx for keeping me Straight Mate :)

Your game mode has a big impact on hazardous weather effects. It is intended to add more challenge to the harder modes of play. You still get some in Normal mode, but the frequency is reduced. A perfect planet on normal mode might have storms if you are playing Survival mode.

Sometimes Tropical planets fall under the swamp biome (I think). I've seen Tropical planets without Star Bulbs and covered with those chopped/half trees that are on almost every swamp planet.

I have everything, pretty much, set to Standard... Maybe it is time I bumped it up a bit. I still want a more Hazardous Planet, but this may also help to find it.

Good Looking Out Mate.... Thanx!!!

This is true. The "Tropical" planet name is in the Marsh biome table as well as the Lush biome. So you can have a planet called "Tropical" which is Marsh, not Lush.

Still Looking for my Dream System/Planet... I figured out what Most of the Keys are in the Galactic Map; but I could use some additional information.

The 1 to 3 Veritcal Dots next to the Image of the Owner Race represents how well that system is doing Economically. A) Is this correct? B) Why would I care? (Not to sound like a Jerk... but seriously; is this something I should consider in selecting a Home Base?). (A Rich System makes it easier to make money... a Poor System gives me a Goal to Strengthen their Economy; if that can be done?!?)

I also now know how to use the various Scanners; specifically the one that displays; (based on color); the primary Economy of a System (Green:Trading, Purple:Adv. Mats., Etc.). Is there an Advantage/DisAdvantage to these Economies? For instance: I focus my Agriculture on the necessary items to produce 'Liquid Explosives'... for Sale. Would it be to my advantage to Use or Avoid specific systems?

Regarding Conflict: Conflict with Who? When the Conflict Level is High... are we talking Sentinel Activity or Pirate Activity? When it's really high... are talking Base Attacks... or just more Space Attacks?!?

I know, for the most part, this is just Picky stuff, that probably wouldn't make that much of a difference; but for me... it's the Immersion. If Money (Units) actually made a difference; where would I get the Most Bang for My Buck!!! Besides... who knows, maybe one day they will include OverHead, and we'll have to start paying our employees... then every $Unit will Count :).

Advanced Thanx for Any/All Info, Tips, Etc. :)

In those 3 star economies, you have a better chance of finding S class ships; 2% chance, instead of 1 or zero. Also the market has more of each item, usually around 500-600 whereas a 1 star system might only have 100 of an item.

You definitely should care about the system wealth. Mainly because it is directly tied to the chance of finding higher class starships, freighters and multi-tools.
The odds of S-class, for example, are:
Outlaw system: 5%
High Wealth System: 2%
Medium Wealth System: 1%
Low Wealth System: 0%

It also matters if you are trading goods between systems. But, there are so many other ways to make Units faster than doing that, that part of it really only matters if trading is something you just enjoy doing.

Economy type determines what goods a system produces (sells cheaply) and which ones it consumes (buys for a good price). So it's main importance is if you are doing the whole trading thing mentioned above.

Conflict level determines hostility level in the system, both in space and on the ground. Pirates and pirate attacks, basically. You will find that pirates attack planetary locations (or even just you as you walk about) when you are out exploring quite frequently in a high conflict system, for example, but it happens super rarely in a low conflict system.
It has no bearing on sentinel activity that I'm aware. Aggressive (extreme) sentinel planets are determined independent of that setting.

As Always... Major Thanx Mates; GREAT Info!!! Narrows the Window on my Perfect System/Planet... but will help with the Perfection :).

And on the Trading... 'Yes, Please'. At the moment I'm doing 'Light Trading'... mostly to gain capital for upgrading Ship and Weapon; but Eventually, I want to make it a Major Thing. And now, with a Much better understanding of the whole Economy thing, I may go all out (eventually) as a Travelling Merchant :)... again... Eventually :).

But again... Major Thanx.... Very Helpful!!!

It took me Forever, but I finally found the Planet I wanted; Toxic...with Massives Storms. I used the Settlement map in space, with the Planet I wanted 2nd closest... and the Settlement was found on the closest. I then tried again (second map, not ReLoaded Game), this time with the Planet I wanted Closest... the Settlement was found on the same planet as before... Tried again (Third Map); again with the Planet I wanted 2nd Closest... and again, the Settlement was found on the same planet. Tried a fourth time; this time while landed on the planet that I wanted; but once more the same planet as the other times has the settlement; also note: after the second time I paid attention to the settlement (because I had to go there before I could try again), and each time it's a Different Settlement on the Planet. Also note; the planet the Settlements keep turning up on is a Paradise Planet.

Am I just having bad luck... or does this mean that the Toxic Planet I want just doesn't have a Settlement on it?!?

I've been to, at least, 20 different Gek Systems, and have checked, at least, 50 different planets; and I finally find the perfect one... and NO Settlement!!! Aaaarrgghhhh!!!!

Still trying to find my Perfect Planet :(....

I found a Paradise Planet with Invisible Jade Winds. Based on ( https://nms.miraheze.org/wiki/Rats_97/X7 ) ...Extreme Storms occur Frequent. I've been sitting on the planet for a Day (a Planet day), the only thing that occurred is the Temp fell to -6 degrees at night... not even cold enough for my filter to kick in.

So is the Link info Wrong... or do I just need to have more Patience? While a Pleasure Planet may not be my Dream Planet... Frequent Extreme Storms would be :).
Krash Megiddo Mar 29, 2023 @ 11:41am
Does the weather contain bubbles rising up from the ground?
Jaggid Edje Mar 29, 2023 @ 11:42am
Invisible Jade Winds are an anomalous weather condition, which can vary from super mild to extreme. Sounds like that planet has the super mild version.

That planet is a Mega Exotic[nomanssky.fandom.com], not your run-of-the-mill paradise planet. Hence the anomalous weather.

It would not be classified as Paradise if the weather had any hazardous storms. So if you are right about the Paradise aspect, then no amount of patience will make a difference on the weather.

You are really lucky to have found that.
I found something slightly different, but still a planet with "storms" with no environmental damage. Everything gets windy like it does for a storm, and the warning comes, but no damage. Its a paradise planet with activated indium on it as well.
Since then I haven't found one single planet like it and have searched 100s of systems since then.
This screenshot shows the address (galaxy 239)

and this kind of shows it during a "storm"
