Connect cylindrical room to timber base?
I'm sure that this has been asked and answered many times, but I can't find anything that makes sense. How do I connect a cylindrical room to my timber base?

I see videos of people connecting a corridor to a wooden wall and it automatically creates a doorway. Now, we have timber walls, and I guess they don't have that feature? I've tried many times and it doesn't work. (Is there some kind of special way to do it?) I can insert a holo door into a timber arch and it snaps, but leaves a lot of gaps. I can then connect the cylindrical room or corridor to that, but it doesn't look great and the holo door juts into the adjacent room. I'm sure that there is a solution to this somewhere....

Do the design with something like Blender and mod it into the game. Provided you don't do stupid, the mod can be disabled afterwards with the base remaining and still working.

That is only a guess because I don't care about this aspect of the game. You could build some of the amazing bases by hand but that's probably the easy way.

Attach one of the prefab tunnels to a wall of your base and attach a round room to it.

(I assume "tunnel" means "corridor" from the prefabs section)

That doesn't work. The corridor attaches to the wall just fine, but it does not create an opening. You just just end up with an inaccessible corridor attached to a solid wall. Am I doing something wrong?

I haven't done much building in this game, so I could be wrong, but as I understand it, the prefab pieces don't connect to the piece-by-piece building pieces (meaning, the timber/stone/alloy pieces). It's an either/or situation. I believe you can use the timber, stone, and alloy pieces together, but none of them will connect to the prefab rooms and corridors. I believe the two systems were added at different times and they haven't been made compatible with each other at this point. Perhaps in the future they will be. It would be nice if this was made clearer in-game somehow.

@CleverUsername you can attach a corridor to a "timber rectangular door" or any wall with a door in the middle. The door is functional.

Try replacing the wall with a door. The walls used to change to a door when attaching a corridor. That may have changed though.

I'll try that. My best guess is that when they replaced "wooden" walls with "timber" walls they changed the way that they worked. I wish there was an open doorway that would lead into the prefab section instead of a door that closes. Just for the appearance.

If memory serves, I think they will snap to an archway. That leaves a gap to the outside though. Maybe you could hide it with plants or something. You have to get a little creative to work around the quirks...
