If you're really determined... You can find out how on YouTube.
Yeah, I don't get paid to do this. YouTube is free and I know that you know how to type it into the search engine and hit enter. Give it a try.
But what I really wanted to say was that you probably don't want to install Better Planet Generation specifically yet. It's been a bit broken since a couple of updates back and the creator hasn't updated it yet to fix it. And yes, with a major update coming perhaps tomorrow, probably not a good idea to be installing any mods. Give the mod creators a week or three to get things updated, after the inevitable hotfixes for the update itself.
Here's the Better Worlds section, as opposed to using BPG.

Black Carbon - could be in the Increase Difficulty section, black crystals are harder to find than red

It is a good idea to not do anything really meaningful once the update hits for at least a week. Examples might include:
Start a permadeath run for the Steam achievement
Living Ship mission
Completely revamp your freighter interior
While I have only had a few bad experiences from past updates, things like falling through your freighter to death, getting one hit dead from aggressive critters, and other odd glitches are to be expected with the hope you will be lucky.
My worst was losing my day one save- which is why I always recommend backing up your save files before playing an update.
You can do it manually by putting the .pak files in the /MODS folder under No Man's Sky. refer to that Wiki article provided above by UncreativelyNamed. All info you need is in the Wiki and on YouTube.
But like other said, right now is bad time to do this. A large update is coming out today and vast majority of mods will be broken for several weeks. If you install mods now, you may not be able to launch the game after the update.
