Heads up on interceptor ship's and going to new galaxy
Don't take the new interceptor ships through the center of the galaxy when traveling to a new one. A lot of things will be damaged and it requires some exotic Sentinel parts to fix it. I lucked out and found a large trading post, And Just purchased another ship so I could get back to my freighter. I ended up on a very toxic planet and there was no way I was going to be able to get the parts needed, i'm not sure that the planet would would even have the parts. If your freighter has the transfer items radar, you could probably use that but you still need the parts on your freighter. I had the parts on my freighter but did not have the transfer installed.

That's a good guide, everyone needs to read it. Because I was totally unprepared. I had repair kits but they were on a different ship. I was not able to summon a ship from my freighter So I'm unsure how he did it, but I could summon the rover and that saved me.

Even in the worst case scenario (if you had no freighter and no spare ship) you could just build a base and teleport to a space station or a previous base.

I keep a stack of repair kits in the main inventory of my freighter.

Yep, this. I kind of wrote off the repair kits until I started moving to new galaxies. It's way easier to just use those in place of more rare items.

My freighter did not have the transfer items radar, so it really doesn't matter if I had the repair kits in my freighters inventory. I did have repair kits but they we're in another ship, the one I use as my fighter.
Also they will not repair everything on the Sentinel ships, you need the brain part And that cannot be repaired with kits. Like the guide said and what happened to me everything is broken on the sentinel ships when you go different galaxy.

I'm not even sure repair kits will work on a sentinel ship since it needed the mirrors and some other parts.

Are you talking about the initial use of the Harmonic brain to claim the ship?

Did it not occur to you to just call in another ship?

I mean, i haven't jumped thru the core with a sentinel ship yet, but once you wake up, you can just call in another ship and switch multitools to avoid repairing those right away.

And what about switching to another multitool and starship before jumping galaxy ? Like junk stuff you never upgrade and use.... and pass the core with your freighter too... so you wont even have to fly that junk ship.

Repair kits actually do work on the Interceptors, I must have made that section confusing. I will go look at it. To repair the Pilot interface, you click on it, then hover over the component you want to repair and press and hold "E". It works for the Harmonic Brain as well.

Also, I think you said you weren't sure how I summoned my ship? If you press "X" you open a tool bar. scroll to "Summon Vehicles", then scroll to the one in the image here.

From there you can see all of your ships, and summon one. I recently figured out that you can swap out the ship you are using with another one on your Freighter. You do the same thing as to summon them, but instead of summoning it, it swaps the ship out.

I tried to summon another one of my ships but they were grayed out, the only thing I could summon was my rover.

That is weird. Maybe it was the location? Mine sometimes does that too.
