but the game is not an action fps type game so it is pretty chill, in fact although the combat has improved it's almost completely optional how much you dive into it (you can avoid or run away from combat without penalty or missing out on anything)
PS. if you decide to jump in, make sure to get it while it's on sale...i don't think you'll regret the purchase
the sale part yeah... i think i just missed one aswell didnt i? gonna take a look arround and see if i can maybe find it a little cheaper somewhere
i find movement and flying easier with the controller, but aiming (when movement is not important) easier using the mouse, the keyboard is mainly for the quick menu keybindings
the next sale shouldn't be too long away
thats where im happy with the deck, i could alternatively use the touchpads for aiming, or even gyro. but while playing docked in a different room i would also use a xbox controller like you do in some cases.
cheers for all the info =)
anyways you're welcome ...maybe see you soon traveller
gonna dive into it later i think
Now go forth and enjoy.
Hectic/chill: Its mostly chill. At the beginning it can be a bit stressful as you secure your survival. Once you achieve the basics of survival, chill settles in.
also wasnt really talking about issues for the deck, rather general performance and impressions nowadays =)
thx everyone!
One of the things I really like about this game is that there are a bunch of settings that you can use to make the game the experience you're looking for. Do you want to just relax and explore planets? Then play in relaxed mode. No combat to speak of, reduced survival requirements, etc. Or even more relaxed is creative mode, meant for people who like to build stuff without having to deal with gathering materials, etc. Or there is the custom mode, where you can manually set your preferences for many different aspects of the game.
Me, I have a "relaxed" save where I just explore and very loosely follow quests and stuff. It's what I used to learn how to play the game. Then I have a "standard" save where things are a bit harder, which I started after I got the basic mechanics down. When I get better at everything, maybe I'll move it all up a notch. Or not. But I like that there's that freedom.
my pc is fairly old, gtx 1070 and ryzen 5 2600 with 16gigs of ram at 3000mhz i believe, it almost feels like theres no difference between my pc and my deck, which i dont mind :D
works flawless for me so far on steam deck, enjoying it so far, but im kinda stuck currently where i have to find clues or rare materials :D paused playing yesterday because it got late, will dive into it later again.
and jeeeeesus this game EATS time. i blinked and 4 hours were gone by lol
The controller is okay, having better support on Steam client. But among FPS/TPS I have ever played, NMS has the worst camera aiming movements so far, even using mouse. The words of VR having better camera now intrigues me.
Don't expect much from the FPS/TPS aspect of NMS but the game is still enjoyable, until HG pushs some controversial update again. But based on the frequency of what happened in the past, it won't happen anytime soon. We are safe.
