It does remove the reminder panel from UI (make sure you download the right file). But for me it also prevented mini-missions from guilds and bounty master from starting up properly. Like they didn't even appear in the mission list.
Because... Some of us have done that quest line over and over again when starting on different platforms.
Some of us want to get to the content locked behind it.
That's why some of us want to know.
It's not something that takes a lot of brain power to recognise as a scenario or consider the issue/discomfort it could cause.
It's also not a short quest and is very basic in content, a lot of "go from A to Z" questing and nothing more.

So what was the point of that response?
Was it thought out at all.
Did it feel like mature or self aware adult would respond like that? Did it feel good to treat them like that, did any of it feel good?
Yeah exactly.
A person came asking for help, not for a sh!tty experience of being raged at.
Just Chill.
I tend to just ignore the whole quest line and do my own thing.
