Disable Tutorial Missions - Question.
I brought a friend of mine to play NMS and already gave him some basics. This option while creating a new save, what exatcly it does? How further it takes you? Does It take away your ability to do the story missions? Or maybe It only take you as far as Anomaly?

Do you lose something by disabling tutorials or It only saves the initial time to fix your ship, etc?

You can see, I am lost about this option. I am not sure how much content in those few hours It will skip. Of It if can cripple the gameplay (missions) later.

Thanks

Skipping the tutorial skips the very first mission, "Awakenings"[nomanssky.fandom.com], which is the one that tasks you with repairing/charging your hazard protection, multi-tool and ship and getting you to your first warp-jump.
The "Skip tutorial" option rewards you with all of the blueprints that you normally would unlock via that mission by just giving them to you immediately, so you do not miss anything by skipping the tutorial.

What absolutely can cause problems is if your friend does NOT skip tutorials, but you give them some assistance before they have finished the tutorial. So just make sure they either choose the difficulty option to skip it, or do NOT help them until they get to where they can summon the anomaly.
Being able to summon the anomaly is a clear indicator that they have finished the 'tutorial'.

Its a particular case because he watched me doing the tutorial. Asked, when he got the game, If he could skip it. But I wasnt sure how far It would take and what consequences It would bring. Thanks Jaggid.

This is the same as continuing on with an expedition save, after the expedition. I have 11 active saves and I've only been through "awakenings" twice. My other 9 saves have not been negatively impacted by this at all.

FWIW, I absolutely value how the game starts, and its first mission, Awakenings. Especially for new players. After you've done it a few time... fine, skip it I guess. But as an entry to the game universe it is excellent and starts the game right. At least now, though, the game is officially delimiting a "tutorial" as the Awakenings mission. I used to define it as game start through completion The Purge and getting into the next galaxy :)

Funny enough, even with the Skip Tutorial Mission enabled, the Awakenings started by itself randomly. Not sure If It was intended or not, so In a way, I guess It only skips the blueprints right away to yourself, and the hermetic seal.

Yes, it is intentional, even with the tutorial skipped you still get the tail end of the awakenings mission, you just don't get stuck with the entire mission, step-by-step for every little task that is required to get spaceworthy.

Personal i'd say it does your friend no favours to skip the tutorial, not cos of any blueprints, but cos the tutorial introduces you to basic elements of the game mechanics and gameplay in effect it provides the foundation for the knowledge you gather as you progress.

the only good reason for skipping it is because you've done it before and know all it teaches you and don't want the hand holding to get started again
