Sentinel Cannon

This thing comes stock on Sentinel Interceptors. Some come with a rocket launcher too. I found that I was able to "STORE" the Sentinel Cannon (like all ships, it only demands that 1 weapon be installed at all times). After storing the Sentinel Cannon, though, I found that I can't build a Photon Cannon, but I could build Nonlinear Optics (a Photon Cannon Upgrade).

I already found out that my basic warp and shield upgrades apply to Sentinel Interceptors, but before I try it (and risk reading numbers wrong) I want to ask: Will the Photon Cannon upgrades (Nonlinear Optics but also the "suspicious" and "overloaded" and other upgrades) work for the Sentinel Cannon too?

its just a different name for the photon cannon, just like the senntinel multi-tool has a "hijacked laser" instead of "mining laser" but the other mining laser mods still stack with it and the photon cannon modules should stack with the sentinel cannon

It's NOT just a different name for the Photon Cannon, it also has different base stats. It has a higher fire rate, lower heat generation, and does less damage per bullet.

The photon cannon upgrades all do work on it though, which is why you can build the Photon Cannon upgrades on it. Yes.

except you CAN actual install the mining laser alongside the hijacked laser...expect this to be patched at some point

LOL, yah...it's pretty ridiculous how much damage your mining beam does when you have both installed. Ridiculous in a good way though....

yep got it on my sentinel rifle which already was 2x2 SC...so it's now 'stupid' OP for the game really...but that doesn't stop me from using it Lol

For those interested in knowing exactly what the differences are between the interceptor guns and the stock Photon cannon, I made a quick table that shows ALL of the stats that both of the technologies have, for comparison.

looks like i already have both mining lasers installed. no wonder its higher stats than my other multi-tools
