Heart of the sun missing

So I did the Atlas path mission and got to the last room and activated the pillars with what I collected on my way there. The middle column now needs The Heart of the Sun which I can craft but the recipe to make it requires the previous stone and the previous stone requires the one before and so on. All the stones were place in the contour columns. The Atlas path is gone now except for the last place. I don't know who came up with this but that's how you kill a game and why people stop playing and loose interest. In a few words The Heart of the Sun is uncraftable with what you find in space. The requested mats needed are not available. I will look further into this but I am afraid it is a dead end. it would have been so much better to have what you need at the end.

You can use the save editor to add that Heart of the Sun item to your inventory

What I do is craft them as I get them while advancing the Atlas path (twice each, seeing as you also need a Heart of the Sun to craft Remembrance). You do not actually need any of the previous stones to activate the columns. If you have a Heart of the Sun in your inventory at that point in time it works for all of them and is not used up when activating them.

Regardless, you can also just leave, go get what you need, and then come back. It's not a dead end.

I'm probably missing something here but isn't it craftable? Isn't the first thing you need for it some kind of sun ray add on thing for the multi-tool? then i think you get liquid sun and from there i think you can craft all of the ones that come after. I'm sure something is going over my head here.

@Darth Cervantes, yes it's craftable, but no you do not need the special multi-tool tools to get the ingredients. The entire chain of crafting takes only basic materials which you can get with the terrain manipulator, mining beam, or even just purchase on stations.

At that point, if you have crafted the sequence of stones, you only have Heart of the Sun left since each stone requires the previous. So you are not actually placing stones. If you crafted it, you may still have it. If not you may have the Modified Quanta. Either way, you have all the blueprints.

If I recall correctly, because I had the same issue some time ago, you need to get the blueprint in the anomaly before crafting it.

Did you get the recipe/blueprint already?
the 1st one need only chromatic metal, the rest need other mats. I was in your spot and left the atlas base went to near space station warp to my base crafted and recame back. now i have 2-3 crafted in my pack.

I'd recommend just rebuilding the HotS if you're that young in the game. The save editors come with their own risks.

Note: I'm not speaking against save editing. I wholeheartedly condone playing as one wishes. Just saying that, if you're not careful, you can really damage or destroy your save. But if you DO want to go that route, start here[github.com], make sure to back up your save first, and welcome to the club.

Ok, Azure gave you the link, now here is what to do with that program:

When you start it then it will find your save files (if they are in a normal place) and offer a list, you need to select the right one and click it, this will open that save file. (2 different things here, the first one it will offer is the "Catalog" of your save games, click that, then look in the list in that window carefully for the 'last' save, {I assume you want to edit the current game save} check by date and time, because they may not be in the order you expect them.)

When you see that the exosuit and multi-tool tabs are lit then your ready to get started.

Don't worry this is easy and rather simple
BUT DO NOT GO OFF WANDERING IN YOUR SAVE FILE
as stated above you can do great damage in here if not careful.

Ok, now open your exosuit inventory and choose an empty slot, right click it and go to 'Add Item'

In the TYPE slot you want to select PRODUCT
In the Category slot you want to select CURIOSITY
Then in the Item slot you pick the Heart of the Sun and click it
then click SAVE
and wala!

That 'save' placed the item in your inventory
Now you need to save the save-game file, click the MAIN tab and there are 3 buttons under that stuff in the top left. (Reload - Save Changes - Save As)

Select Save Changes and your finished! (can also make a backup copy in another location using the Save As button)

And Bob's your Uncle!

Each one requires you have the previous one to make it, they have already placed those items in the pillars so they couldn't make the last one, or something like that

I couldn't tell what the OP was describing... Now I get it... He has completed the Atlas path, which uses up each seed to make the next. At the end you use the final seed, Heart of the Sun, to create Starseed. Which finishes the Atlas Path. Then the Artemis path, which doesn't require seeds to activate the pillars, it needs only a Heart of the Sun after all pillars are activated. A second one which you don't have. But you have all the blueprints. Kind of a jarring discovery :) Next time will be easier if you craft 2 of each seed as you go so you have the second Heart of the Sun.
