They all go the same speed going from planet to planet
Any other answer is just people telling you what ships THEY like, not the actual answer to your question asked.
I mean, I prefer exotics. It's still not the correct answer.
That said, any ship is plenty fast once fully upgraded. If you put all of your best pulse drive upgrades in the supercharge slots you will push the ship to the fastest it can be.
Ignore adjacency for this if your superhcarge slots are not near each other. The supercharge bonus is greater than the adjacency bonuses that you lose.
As for the Utopia speeder, it is just a fighter, and has no other bonus that differentiates it from any other fighter in the game files (It's actually totally identical to the golden vector if you strip all technologies and compare them side-by-side):

Now, it could have some hidden bonus that is hard coded (in the files we modders cannot see), but after flying it for around 60 hours so far, I don't think it does. Still, I could be wrong.
Boost in space is 3040
No, but if you find a ship with 4 supercharge slots adjacent that is also a solar ship AND work to get all of the best pulse drive upgrades that can be generated. Then it will be the fastest ship that you can get.
Your method alone would still be a very fast ship though. :)
thank you for you explanation.
btw, for solar ships, how do they work exactly ? do they always have the boost or you need ot be facing away from the sun?
Always, as long as the Vesper sail is functioning. It would be SO cool if the system sun(s) played a role though.
You might also be interested to know that there are several pulse drive technologies that you cannot install in a normal game. One is a special pulse engine, the Waveform Engine, that is only available to saves that started as Expedition 3, and the other is a pulse drive upgrade, the Photonix Core, that is only available to PS4 players who bought the Limited Edition.
You could unlock those for your game via either mods or the save editor if you care about missing out on them.
on one hand I hate that you cant get the rewards from previous expeditions, especially since some are useful, on the other hand I understand that its a reward exclusively for more veteran players.
Note that, unless they change it, the Waveform Engine is available ONLY in the expedition save. It is not one of the rewards that can be claimed on your other saves (which annoys me to no end).
