If the Freighter is there, simply use "X" Menu, as normal.
Yea I did that but it tells me there is no exocraft summoning platform in this system despite the fact that I have my freighter summoned.
Thank you. I'm ♥♥♥♥ out of luck because I don't have any Salvaged Frigate Modules at the moment. I did a derelict freighter mission to try and get some but didn't get any. I've sent my fleet to do missions. Hopefully it will yield some.
edit: I already have this on there
https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Orbital_Exocraft_Materialiser
but I cannot summon an exocraft when I have my freighter summoned to a system. Is it bugged?
You need at least ONE exocraft geobay on a planet surface (for each exocraft) built in order to summon it with the exocraft summoning station or orbital exocraft materializer. You always have.
It only requires one (for each craft) and it can be built, literally, on any planet, anywhere, in any galaxy. But you need that one.
As for building the geobays on the freighter, you can do that with glitch building methods (or mods), but it won't help. Geobays built on the freighter do not count for the requirement.
Without the exocraft materializer on the freighter (or the mobile exocraft summoning station which you can build and carry around with you) you need an exocraft geobay on the same planet.
Note that once you have an exocraft on the planet, you can summon it anywhere on that planet without the need for a geobay or a summoning station. So you can build the geobay, then destroy it right after for just that one planet.
I typically build all the exocraft geobays at my settlement, or first base, so that I always know where they are. But you could just randomly build them on any ol' planet, without any base at all. Once you build and leave it there, you will be able to summon it anywhere using that orbital exocraft materialiser. As long as your Freighter is in the same system as you.
I can carry it around with me? Since when was that added?
Hmm that is strange. I've built more than one geobay on many planets. I wonder why its not letting me summon off the freighter? Maybe I'll just have to delete the Orbital Exocraft Materialiser currently on my freighter and rebuild it. It may reset the requirement.
Where is the bug report section on here?
The change to allow you to 'pick it up' rather than needing to scrap and rebuild it each time you needed to place it was in the Sentinel update, in February of last year.
Hopefully the solution provided by @AmberAnvil works. It sounds like it probably is your problem.
With how you worded your first post and the statement that you just got a new freighter, it didn't even occur to me you could be still using the old materializer but new freighter doesn't actually mean new freighter base so I bet that's the issue.
Yes and yes. Its on there but its not functional which is what confused me. Time to delete and rebuild!
Goodbye you old piece of crap!

edit: Now I just need to get some frigate salvage modules lol. Always in short supply of those.
