Alt-tab issues since the Fractal update

Compared to the crashing issues and failure to launch issues that are people are experiencing, this is pretty minor, so I didn't bring it up before....but I'm having issues with alt-tab while playing.

After a system reboot, I can play fine, alt-tab works fine, but eventually alt-tab starts getting sluggish and gets to the point where alt-tabbing takes like a minute or more to bring up the background app. I then have to reboot the system entirely to get it working well again.

By 'eventually', by the way, I mean multiple sessions of play. Everything is fine no matter how many hours I play after a reboot if I do NOT exit the game and restart it.

I track a lot of different things in the game in a spreadsheet, so I alt-tab a LOT, and always have. This problem is new since the Fractal update. Anyone else experiencing similar, have any ideas or solutions? (I already play in Windowed Borderless).

I also ALT+TAB alot (discord Steam Winamp Browser documents and so on) and have no issues with that.. I play only in Fullscreen and my screen resolution does match my in Game Resolution

The same as Musashi here - tabbing in and out a lot and no issue ....

@jbscoutberlin, do you also play in Full Screen? If both of you do and don't have problems, I may try that.

I just rebooted before posting, so right now it's fine for me or I'd test if it made a difference. It will probably be a day or two before I see the issue again.

So I testet all 3 options ... Fullscreen, Borderless, with border .... And that with a lot of open tabs in Firefox for my daywork, a video on Youtube and a pg fat spreadsheet and textcodument in openoffice ... no problems so far.

When was the last time you rebooted (or shut down) Windows? It takes a few days of playing every day before I have a problem too. I don't generally ever do a Shutdown, just put my PC to sleep when I'm not at it.

I always switch off my PC if I leave.. and ofc every night

I switch a few times a day between Windows and Linux. Also this morning ( its 09.30am here ).

This has been an issue for me since I started playing NMS a couple months ago. A fresh start and I'm good for a few play/save/quit/restart cycles, then it starts to get glitchy and eventually it CTDs me, or freezes and I have to alt+f4.

Can't say it's gotten worse since Fractal, but other things definitely have. I'll CTD now just from coming into my base landing pad too fast. Updating drivers fixed it at first, then the next hotfix they dropped messed it up again, and I was fresh out of new GPU patches.

I had this issue pre-fractal and switching to borderless window fixed it.

I play borderless window on one of my two monitors, and alt-tab out to spreadsheets, steam chat, etc. on the second monitor on a regular basis. Haven’t had any problems. This computer stays on 24/7, and I reboot it occasionally (for Windows updates). I also don’t keep NMS or Steam active all the time, only when I’m playing or chatting in forums, etc.
