You can use the save editor to 'delete' unwanted multi-tools if their existence bothers you, but in the game itself, you're stuck with however many you have accumulated.
i used to have one for basic combat, one for mining and scanning, and another with big weapons. now i can use just one for all of that. so i definitely don't need the other 5
The supercharging makes a massive difference on everything except the terrain-manipulator, so it just makes sense to specialize your multi-tools, imo.
thank you
Since they changed the game so you can store equipment and upgrades and then reinstall in a new tool it makes a lot more sense to just exchange for a slightly better tool in the early game. In the past it was just not worth the effort to exchange for a new C class tool with two more slots when you lost all the work you had done on the previous tool.
Now you can store the stuff you want to reinstall, exchange for the slightly better tool, and reinstall the stuff you stored. I like that they actually provided a purpose to pick up some of the C and B class tools rather then hold out for an A class or better.
At least for me, having one tool that does it all (with max slots) makes the most sense. Bothers me to have to change tools depending on what I want to do.
Also, what do you look for in a mining Multitool? I see damage and scanning for stats but nothing to denote proficiency in mining.
Ty.
You only need one of them. Personally, I use the first, as it gets updated more consistently. Nom Nom's has not been updated since November; Goatfungus's has had an update after every major game patch, plus a few in between.
Make sure there's no other weapon installed on your MT, then the damages shown on the top right will be from your mining laser. That way you can tinker moving modules around and see which set-up give the biggest numbers.
Ok, thank you!
