How to find other players?
Besides the Nexus if i wanted to go like base raiding or something. How would i go about finding REAL people. Are there certain areas of the ENTIRE universe that are heavy populated. OR is it literally impossible since the game is like the size of the real universe.

The very center of Euclid is populated, as is the center of Eissentam to a lesser degree. Beyond that, your best odds of finding others are in systems that have a reason to attract people. I can't remember the last time I did NOT see other players in these locations:

- The systems where the most recent expedition or two took place. (I was just in an expedition 9 system yesterday, for example, and there were 3 other people there when I entered).
- The system where you complete the Living Ship quest....pretty much there are always people here.
- Systems that are known by a lot of players to have good derelict freighters (I rarely find the Taz system empty, for example).
- Systems where the current weekend Quicksilver mission is happening, when it's a weekend.

"base raiding"? you do know that you can't steal things from other players, right?? you can't get their ships, materials, or anything... even if you PvP kill them...

some things, like plants they are growing, you can get but they're still in place in that player's game instance for them unless you take them while both of you are in the same place in-game...

Not that kind of game. We're generally a peaceful bunch 'cept for a few trolls that wander by during expeditions and feed off new players. This game probably wont feed that itch.

Man, you guys are no fun. I just answered his question, figured he'd spend a ton of hours before finally finding populated systems and finding out that there's no base raiding.

LOL. Only if they have PvP enabled for the first one, but yah.

You can also take rsources from their storage silos if they have hotspots tapped. It's not 'stealing' from them, because it won't affect their own ability to also get the materials, but it is 'free stuff'.

And if they have anti-matter reactors that they had fueled up before uploading the base, you can also take anti-matter.

Honestly, you can take all kinds of stuff, it just doesn't impact the player who owns the base (unless they are in the same instance of the system at the same time as you are there....then it does impact them, and you would be, effectively, raiding them).

The game starts with pvp enabled, a fact that always makes me wonder about HG in general. New players don't know this, old players forget. This usually comes into play when a troll camps out in early part of expedition and screws with folks till they figure it out. So, if tracking and killing noobs or the unaware is your thang, go for it. And no, can't really steal anything. Open containers and all you see is your inventory. See a plant, pick it, it is still available to someone else. Mess with a location by putting down a base to wall it off, anyone else can remove your base and report it. This ain't Rust.
Enjoy.

EVERY single time....I always forget. Until I'm in the middle of a situation where it would have been very bad for me if any other player had decided to be malicious.

So far I've been lucky, and have never actually ran into a malicious player before remembering, but I feel like it's just a matter of time. And it will suck, because I play at the higher difficulty, which means I'd lose everything in my exosuit if it happens.

I honestly think HG has it set as enabled for the default in order to get revenge on the player-base for how mean people were when the game first came out. LOL

Be nice to see base raiding and pvp game mode on its own for now I'll stick to killing harmless animals in our power puff universe, sadly without anti cheat system and with edited saves be hard to make it work.

Only suggestion be play in perm death mode for added risk.

Plz water my NipNip buds if you stop by :cigarette:

base raiding in no mans sky would be lit as f x)
There's also the "Featured Bases" areas, it's the only other set of Locations anyone can visit regardless of having been to the Universe, System & so forth.

When I started in Oxt I did my first settler mission in the Unification Day 2022 Galaxy, I went to go see the Last Egg from the First Dragon base & while impressive, I was moving on quickly afterwards.

I pop in to mess with the place & see LOTS of people show up, drop in on other planets & pop out, I've even run across A fella that does YT Video Guides for NMS.

So it's not much, but it works A little, I don't know about the other Featured Bases or their popularity, but sooner or later folks tend to get bored or wanna go see what makes them Featured, they're also quick hops to other Universes without having to put in the work.
