Lighting effects in multi floored freighter rooms
Is there a way to prevent lighting effects from the system's star in big multi floored rooms ? (Big moving patches of light as if the room was exposed to the sun despite being roofed and enclosed)

I tried different display settings and lighting solutions, did not manage to get rid of it.

Will try to change the dimensions of the room, see if it changes anything.

For information this is the type of rooms I'm talking about : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2CHkvlpLE8&ab_channel=AtanasTripzter

I doubt it since what was built is an enclosed outside space, not really a room. The game has trouble with indoor spaces at times.

I may have an answer. If the room is completely enclosed (no gaps in the floor, ceiling and walls) it seems to prevent outside lighting effects.

I used to have gaps in the floor on the lowest level of the freighter base to be able to place stairs there. I filled the gaps, saved and reloaded and the effects are gone.

I may just be lucky for now but that would make sense.

EDIT nevermind, effects came back after a while. it does seem better with no gaps tho, with smaller and less frequent effects.

Beeblebum shows a method of doing this where he rotates those platforms to make the walls and turns it upside down for the ceiling. But it does still have the limits you mentioned about building out the interior. Beebs used his has a ship hanger with a huge functional door, however the ship will not enter it, seems the 'hit-box' around the ship is huge and it doesn't work right.
