Saying all of this, there is actually a problem with the v54 of quest software (if you are playing it on quest). There is a wifi bug that when you move your head it stutters and freezes. You can either update to the PTC or wait. Worked for me, much better.
Another issue is they have switched the interaction input to the touch of the controller grip sensors rather than the actual squeeze of them. Meaning when you barely touch the knuckles' grip sensors it is registering as an interaction button press. This causes many accidental interactions with your vehicles, randomly punching rocks and animals, and randomly interacting with other players and kiosks.
I have been able to work around these issues by playing with a completely open hand (super awkward) and minimizing movement when using the multi-tool but I really hope for a fix in the near future. At the very least we should have some in-game controller configuration if they think these current settings should be the default. It has been pretty bad trying to get through this new expedition with these wonky controls, but I want that sweet loot
Game runs all high @1080p in the 70-90 fps range normally. Been enjoying a moderately modded Skyrim VR lately that runs great. So I'm unsure if this is normal for NMS and I don't have any baseline to compare it to previous versions.
I feel ya man. I'm in the same boat. I was all hyped to try NMS in VR and just happen to get into it when this update rolls out killing VR. I haven't had a chance to try VR since yesterday's patch so I'll see if my Quest 2 does any better today.
Yea its bad. I'm very disappointed. I might roll back versions.
