PC players randomly suffers this issue too. Black screen/whitescreen with the game still running for me. Happened 3 times in 6 hours already.
You are not alone.
Not true.
You can check the game file integrity. Close out Steam and then try again.
You may need an uninstall and reinstall.
I found that sometimes, especially the first time, patience is required.
I have also found that in opening, the game window does not come to the fore front and if you can't access your dock it makes it even harder to get too. If you can, clicking the app won't open. You have to right click and scroll to the top of the menu to hit app title.
Thankfully I leave my Mac at work, obviously I won't play games and do personal stuff on work machine, and have a decent PC for gaming at home.
But I know the frustration when it comes to gaming on Mac and the monopoly move made by Apple ever since the Apple CPU comes out.
It is still too soon to game on Unix system in general, not only Mac OS.
What are you spreading? Anything helpful?
Coming Soon....
Sonoma is coming out in a day or two. It is more focussed on actual gaming and it is supposed to help more with keeping your game and peripherals priority. It looses my controller every 5 minutes and has a hard time with syncing for my other devices.
Unfortunately, it has some Macs left out in the cold. Good news.... They are trying to find a way to get more Macs compatible. So some may have to wait a bit longer.
Reinstall has unfortunately brought nothing! I then tried all the possibilities of screen resolutions. Has unfortunately not worked. I also had patience! But unfortunately it does not work! -> SumGumption ist right, I think!
I'm sorry. Maybe someone else will come along with something helpful. Hopefully Sonoma will be available as quickly as I heard it will be. Your 2020 computer will be eligible.
