I wonder if this still happens?
Which game mode?
Is Multiplayer enabled?
I can certainly understand your frustration.
One thing you SHOULD do with this game is back up your saves. Copy the folder in:
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS
Every time you exit your ship, a restore point is created. It can easily be overwritten because of this.
Also, there are save editors you can get to restore items you feel you may have been cheated on due to bugs. People use them all the time for various reasons. I have never used one, so I can't point you to the best editor or explain how they work.
Then I realised I could not reload a previous manual save, because the game now overwrite the save files EVEN THE MANUAL ONES (Yes, I haven't played a long time...).
So I now have to farm everything that was inside again, buy or craft all modules, etc...
Hopefully I was not THAT far in my game, but this is a VERY annoying bug, specially considering there IS a message before changing ship to transfer inventory to the new one.
Sorry this expedition is the first time I am messing with freighters.
