Sentinels never stop?
So I just started the game after a few years, made a new game and repaired my ship. Explored a bit and ended up starting a fight with the sentinels. Now 30 minutes later (20 of those hiding in a deep cave) they're still in combat with me.

As I remember it, if they can't find you a timer starts and then the combat stops. Is that not the case anymore?

I've found if you're waiting it out in a cave and such, the 'timer' doesn't activate. just go out from the cave and run away from them and the countdown timer should start. Don't jump in your ship though, because you'll end up scrapping it out with Sentinel ships.

I also tried running, timer still didn't appear :/ In the end I just let them kill me next to the ship, less annoying x)

Sometimes leaving the cave/hole and running will reset the timer, but sometimes the timer bugs out and will never start, so you end up with a never-ending wanted level.

This has happened to me a couple of times, and the only way I've found so far to fix it is to save/exit/reload. I usually do this by constructing a save beacon, but you won't have that blueprint yet. So, if your wanted level is truly stuck, and if your ship is nearby, hop in it and hop out and then exit and reload the game. If your ship isn't nearby, you might have to just quit and reload and therefore lose some progress.

Like Uncreative posted, just re-load a save, that is the quickest and least painful...lol

drop a save beacon, make a save point, reload that save point, done! sentinels dealt with...

For me the timer starts and at the end of it,they find me and timer restarts again.hide run makes no diff. leave planet come back and they still try and or kill me.it's Bugged

again, create a new save point by using a save point, save beacon, or jumping out of your ship... then reload that save point and poof! they're no longer after you... unless you trigger them again...

Maybe I have just been really lucky, but when you are hiding in your little dug out area, don't move at all. Don't open any tabs, don't move your view around. I repeat, don't do anything. Yes, you will get shot at 1-3 times, but you won't die and they will stop.

yeah, you have apparently been lucky enough to not trigger the endless fight bug... when you do, you will know it... one way because if you do dig, the sentinels will follow you... you can see their markers following you... if you are under ground and in a large open space (natural or manually dug) they will come right through the terrain as if it is not even there... these are the times when the save'n'reload method works to get out of the situation...
For me this is part of the game I never understood. Why would a player want to go against a force that never ends? Especially if they can deal critical damage to components in your ship that end up costing a fortune to repair in the game. On top of this, many of the events that trigger the never ending sentinels are things like grabbing venom sacs or grav balls basically making it a pick up no one goes for when you can farm both of them.
In a way I get it, you're supposed to flee from the enemy after taking some of them out but I'd rather engage with a force that I could eventually beat, instead it becomes an aspect of the game that's avoided since in a space ship, you can't warp out unless you have an emergency drive that can send you to god knows where.
It's just not balanced at all properly in a risk vs reward sense

you can beat them... for a time... there's something like 5 waves... i think the 2nd wave brings the doggos, 3rd wave brings the little mech or more doggos or both, i forget what the 4th wave brings but i know the 5th has the much larger mech as well as the little one... take them all out and you get a pointer to the control terminal... base it or save beacon it and you can use it any time to turn them all off...

if you rather take them in space, it is a pretty normal and easy space fight... at some point their freighter will warp in and you can take it out to shut them all down for a bit...

this is really only a problem when you are just starting or are in a ship you have not yet upgraded... with certain upgrades, you can just outrun them with your boost drive... when you get clear of them, then you can pulse on if you want... the best thing with a weak ship is to try to get to the space station, your freighter, or the anomaly... remember you can call the anomaly after your 1st warp...

i guess that depends... i've not had any problems in my almost 2500 hours...
