what headset and software do you use and what system configuration you have ? Does the game crash before you can start a save or before the main menu screen ?
Can also check that your config.mxml files in your Steam install Hard Drive> Steam Apps> common> No Man's Sky> Binaries> SETTINGS> file is not set to read only(Right click, properties, Read only box should be unchecked).
VR is working almost perfectly for me with acceptably minor fps dips 5800x3d, 3090, Index @ 90hz Ultra settings DLSS-Balanced. Looks amazing!
What settings are you running at?
What are your PC specs?
it runs in vr for me but the frame rate is non existent.
i did check the read only status like was recommended
made no difference.
i stopped playing a year ago because of vr issues and seeing starfield made me long for space again and i figured surely the problems are fixed by now. except now it's 100 times worse. guess i'll go download starfield on gamepass and come back to the real space game again in a year to see if i can run it again ..... for christ sake i first played this on a ps4 in vr and that worked better than it does now.
"Fixed a bug affecting No Man’s Sky and other titles that exhausted texture cache resources."
I don't know if this is your problem, but FYI.
Simply put, it usually runs while decompressing compressed files during play, but you can decompress these beforehand to improve overall performance.
However, it is safer not to do this if you don't know what you are doing.
