But good on you for setting personal limits.
I know. Awesome, isn't it
I had the same experience when I first played after the sentinel ships were released. It doesn't matter what the ship is if you can trade it for pretty much any ship in the game.
For some of us it will be. Some of us like the early game and get bored with the drudgery after that.
I thought they were going to nerf the sentinel ship values, but I guess not. Need a few hundred million to trade in that starter ship and get you on your feet? Just pop into a dissonant system, and you never even have to ever be concerned about units.
The ship stats are better alone just because it is an A class, but let's consider the slots. My actual C class (which I mentioned, worth 6 millions on trades) have 17/23, the Sentinel have something like 25/32 (or more, I don't remember now) with 3 powered slots, against zero of mine.
As I said, it is a jump so abrupt it would ruin the progression if I kept flying her.
It is a 92 millions units ship!
Idk what run I am in, but if I chose a Survival Permadeath (with max difficulty) experience, I want a Survival Permadeath with max difficulty experience, but the game insist in try to make things easier, like when it tries to give me a 20 million units freighter because I destroyed 5 pirates with shields made of soap bubble (ofc I just get the payiment instead).
The interceptors i found "naturally" were all C class so you were a bit lucky
You can totally keep using a C class shuttle if that's what you fancy.
Eh... sell it and then poop away the creds on stuff to discard?
Or just stow it and forget about it?
To be fair there are a lot of difficulty spikes or absurdities that are super confusing for a new player. They can struggle for hours on a survival mechanic and there just find out certain item completely removes that difficulty from the game.
The game is poorly balanced, it's not a mystery
