Alt tab question
So afaik the only way to have the game not pausing while alt tabing is to have multiplayer no and other players in the same system/instance.

Is it still the case as of now ?

NMS does NOT like Alt-Tab, do this instead, go to options and set it for border-less windowed mode. then open your inventory, this will 'un-lock' the cursor and allow you to move it out of that window and select other things. Hope this helped!

Don't need to go that far. Once you swap to borderless windowed mode, the game stabilizes and you can safely ALT-TAB all you want.

That said, the game only partly pauses while ALT-TAB'd. Calculations still occur while tabbed out (refiner operations, planet time, etc.). This also includes hazard protection usage. But you are correct, the only way to "fully unpause" it to be in a space that's currently flagged as multiplayer.

I already use borderless and opening the inventory does not allow the game to fully unpause.

Yes things like refiners and hazard protection keep working but my ship stop moving. My ideal use would be : start pulse drive, alt tab, come back to the game once the ship has reached its destination

So you want NMS to act more like a phone game? Do the action, put it down down, come back to choose the next action, rinse and repeat.
Go find mobile games if that's the gameplay loop you want. Ffs, like it takes sooooo long to pulse from 1 planet to the next.

I've never been more than 2 minutes of pulse drive away from anything in any system... I can sip beer and munch beef jerky with that time but I wouldn't bother tabbing out. Most of my pulse jumps are <1 minute I'm pretty sure.

I think the refiners, AMU, etc working is more important to most people.

What action ? Are you doing anything during pulse drive ? Contemplating particles ?

So what are you doing during those 2 minutes ?

Id rather use my computer during this.
Especially when doing dozens of warp jumps / pulse in a row to find specific planets. That is a lot of "2 minutes"

45 seconds is more than enough time to switch to a music player and select a song, answer someone on a messenger, check email..... Now that I know it can be done without pausing I will do it frequently.

Yeah I admit I've gotten warp fatigue before. That's a good time for the phone to entertain me. It's got a browser and games just like my PC. :sans:

Yeah obviously if you have an other device or monitor for that you can forget about alt tabing, however my question implied id prefer alt tabing instead

If you can't be with the one you want then love the one you're with.

Action - Setting the pulse drive
Then you want to go so other things because you are apparently incapable of waiting a minute or so to get to the next planet.
Do you not own a phone? LOL, now I sound like Blizzard.:steammocking:

You sound like a moron (but that is not mutually exclusive with what you said)

No reason for this.
