Autophage Quest “They Who Returned”

How to Unlock the NMS Autophage Quest “They Who Returned”
I found these steps:

1) Complete “The Purge,” the final story mission of the Artemis Path, the main campaign of No Man’s Sky.

2) Own a Planetary Settlement to start the quest, “A Trace of Metal,” which involves creating a Sentinel Companion and upgrading your Minotaur mech.

3) Warp to a Dissonant system to randomly receive a message from a damaged Autophage communicating with you via a “hijack source.”

4) Head to the camp where the Autophage is located, and this will conclude the initiation process of “They Who Returned.”

I'm not keen on completing "the purge" on 8 different saves, so I'll test the echo locator on some planets and see what happens.

You must use a portal as part of THE PURGE, it sends you to the Atlas interface, regardless of whether or not you reset

So to confirm, I've purged euclid, progressed settlement metals quest (ai in exocraft) and have discovered dissonant systems. To start the autophage quest i need to receive the message as i understand it, and to trigger THAT (the whole reason I'm searching lol) i need to visit the dissonant system, land on dissonant activity planet, and grind sentinel minotaurs and dogs to get an echo locator item? Follow the echo, and i assume a quest log appears at some point from there?

1: Trace of Metal is NO LONGER a requirement!
2: Yes you obtain an ECHO LOCATOR (from destroying Dissonance Resonators) and use it to locate a Harmonic Camp. You will also obtain the BUZZ LIGHTYEAR WINGS (jetpack) by unlocking the Harmonic.

Once completed, just warp to another system using your SHIP.

Timely. Just meandering through he purge on my voyager save and thought to myself - staves, must be time for staves. I shall need a pink staff to go with my Barbie Pink interceptor.

Ok, new news. On my first system change, not even going from or to a Korvak system the autophage quest popped so they must have changed it so any first jump after the finish of purge works. Every time HG tries to get creative they end up having to dumb it down so we can just rub our scruffy faces on the keyboard to set off quests. You'd think they'd have gotten that figured out by now. Six long years and we refuse to accept directions. Tough crowd.

@Foxglovez, nah sorry not new news, it was always first jump after having met ALL of the requirements, the from/to a korvax system was never a thing... are you mixing that up with the korvax monoliths... cos that's a thing
