Singularity Expedition turned me off for NMS
This expedition has got me feeling lost and bewildered, Never before have I encountered such a confusing endeavor. From the very start, I'm stuck without a clue, No guidance, no direction, feeling utterly askew.

Honestly, Hello Games dropped the ball on this one, As a lifelong gamer, I've faced challenges and won. But now I find myself puzzled and frustrated, Five attempts in, and my enthusiasm has deflated.

I used to praise this game for its greatness and fun, But now I'm questioning if it's all just undone. The frustration has led me to the brink, From "This is a great game" to "This game's starting to stink."

No clue, no guidance, not direction... LOL... Can no one read anymore?

It starts with a big hint placard telling you were to find the guide. Tells you what to select...
Wow..

Allow me to set the record straight from the outset—I'm no novice when it comes to No Man's Sky. I had the game pre-ordered even before its release, and unlike many who were quick to criticize Sean Murray and Hello Games, I stuck around and offered a positive review. However, for the first time ever, I find myself encountering something in NMS that leaves me less than enthused—the lack of information surrounding the latest expedition.

Now, before you jump to conclusions, let me assure you that my frustration has nothing to do with my gaming skills. I've been through countless missions where you follow the objectives, expecting the necessary resources or components to be readily available for progress. But here's the catch—it's not about building a long-term save or conquering a formidable challenge. Expeditions are designed for rewards, not lasting accomplishments.

To my disappointment, the Singularity Expedition falls flat on several fronts. Far from being challenging, it has become more of a nuisance. I won't spoil the specifics, but let's just say that if you're counting from 1 to 3, you'd naturally expect a left-to-right sequence—not a middle-to-left and then right path. Additionally, when you find yourself in need of extracting a crucial ore without the required equipment, the game fails to provide sufficient guidance. This forces players to engage in farming, selling, accumulating credits, and purchasing Wire Looms for advanced mining. There's no mission to lead you to acquiring advanced mining unless you intentionally skip that part and return to it later. I discovered this firsthand because I was genuinely invested in playing and exploring.

Now, don't get me wrong—I've undertaken numerous expeditions before and never encountered such problems. Expeditions should be enjoyable and offer cosmetic rewards, not pose unnecessary obstacles that resemble those found in long-term saves. No Man's Sky, in its essence, is not a game known for its difficulty, and therefore, we shouldn't have to jump through hoops as if we were playing an extended campaign.

Let's hope that future expeditions strike a better balance, ensuring that veterans and newcomers alike can embark on exciting journeys without unnecessary frustration. We're all here to appreciate the vastness of this universe and revel in its wonders, after all.

I kind of liked it. 5/5 would do again. All the expeditions are a bit challenging in different ways though. I thought the one I did before this one was kind of annoying because some of the landing spots were basically on the side of a mountain. Then I had to jet pack up it while sentinels are chasing me. Yeah, good times.

Lol ...this wall-of-text is sorry to say 'rubbish'
as i stated in a previous post a PRE-PACKAGED advance mining laser (no assembling reqd.) is a reward for completing the 4th milestone of phase 1 ...it's impossible to complete phase 1 without getting that milestone done
....did you not accept the reward?
....did you not install the pre-packaged advance mining laser ?
wotever you did or didn't do, it would've been your choice ...so your mistake yes?

1) from start to milestone 4 of phase 1 is as linear as you can get
(get off 1st planet, go to the first poi on another planet in the same system, get BP and make the thing, accept the reward), how the heck did you manage to mess that up? ...when your ready to 'fess up, i'd love to hear it

2) there is only 1 milestone that cannot be done in 'sequence' in the whole expedition, it's in phase 4, HG realised they screwed the pooch on that one and patched the game, the hints now tell you do the 'divergence' milestone before the atlas one ...so yeah ONE non-linear milestone

3) there is absolutely no need to go to any great excessive lengths to farm for credits/resources, that would be your playstyle that leads you to believe that's wot you need to do.
for example you mentioned wiring looms ...don't buy, you get given many tech upgrades as rewards, install something you don't need and dismantle it ...most will give back a wiring loom
further proof that excessive farming isn't reqd. can be found in any of the many speedrun streams of this expedition available to view on youtube

I mean, I've owned NMS for a while now but only really started playing within the last month and the expedition was incredibly easy to finish for me.

I treated it like a speed run. Collected as many mats as I could on my way to my ship, fixed the ship and went to space. That completed the first steps granting me free upgrades and blueprints needed to continue. Just about everything major is given to you by simply doing each step.

It went especially fast as the next thing I did was go and pick up an A class interceptor from the starting planet which was also very easy. Hardest part is getting an inverted mirror and thats just shooting the virus looking dudes with your ship and warping out to drop your wanted level.

Definitely did not feel confusing or difficult in the slightest. Had it done in 2 days playing after work.
