https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Portal_address
The portal addresses you enter can be separated into different parts.
You key in 12 glyphs, and they have these functions.
Glyph - 1 . The planet's number in the system, values 1-6.
- 2 - 3 - 4 . Star system index, values 001-2FF.
- 5 - 6 . Galactic Y coordinates (up/down), values 01-FF.
- 7 - 8 - 9 . Galactic Z coordinates (north/south), values 001-FFF.
- 10 - 11 - 12 . Galactic X coordinates (east/west), values 001-FFF.
The same coordinates are used in the same way in all galaxies, what is at the address is, of course, completely different.
Thanks.
EDIT: I should have read the info at the link. It looks like Y = 7F, X = 801, Z = 801, will
put you far out. Y can be almost any value including 00. The numbering wraps from one side of the galaxy back to the other.
UPDATE: I just tried 1 111 7F 7FF 7FF or bird, bird, bird, bird, insect, triangles, insect, triangles, triangles, insect, triangles, triangles. This was in Euclid and was a good address. I ended up 1,159,243 LYs from center. I must be in a far upper corner of the galaxy box.
What you've achieved is commonly (?) known as the Fade https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/The_Fade
To roughly determine the diameter (assuming perfect circle galaxy), just multiply the distance to core from your Fade system by 2.

they basically spit out a number system to match with a solar system in the game, and the first glyph is considered zeros so entering it all in will make it all zeros, (the center,) which isn't a solar system.
the game then has a bugged portal code and connects to the nearest portal in the galaxy to the coordinates you entered.
there is no portal glitch glyph code you can use to get to the furthest part of the galaxy because that's not what's actually going on with the glitch.
it's just matching the coordinates of your input to the nearest system available, all the glyph glitches do this and they all bring you towards the center of the galaxy when doing the glitch because they are all essentially putting in the coordinates for the galactic core which isn't a solar system you can actually portal to.
