Classes in order, etc
Curious how many classes are there? I believe the C Class ship is the lowest and kept hearing that S Class is the highest. So what goes between them? There is A and B, also found a X Class module, has very little stats on it.

Btw have anyone found anything interesting in buried caches?

C, B, A, S are the classes in order. X is for hacked, pirate, illegal upgrades. There is no X class multitools and ships, it's just for upgrades. X upgrades are often mysterious and you won't know their effects until you install them. They can sometimes be more powerful than A or S upgrades.

For objects (ship, multi-tool, freighter, etc)
Classes from lowest to best:
C
B
A
S

Upgrade modules use the same classes, from lowest to best:
C
B
A
S
And the best class is "X" as they have the potential to be BIS (best in slot)

There are also "unique" items too like:
Illegal "X" class hazard protection, only available as an X class
Forbidden Exosuit upgrades obtained from Salvaged glass from killing planetary Sentinels

C, B, A, S. Lowest to highest. X class upgrades can be lower or higher than S Class. I just use them as one source of nanites. S Class tend to be good enough :steamhappy:. However, others may have a different opinion on their worth.

Thanks that really help, i looked in the guide (ingame) didnt say or if there a manual and couldnt find it. This should help others incase they didnt know.

Also noticed there is a overcharge slots on multi tools and ships too. I like to find weckages and see which one suit me for my character. To upgrade them arent cheap. The sad parts, i dont like how they color them. So i have to keep looking until i find the right one for me.

I have found few X class modules in the ground (buried caches) and some have poor stats on them. But i havent tried placing them on the overcharge slot (purple). That was new since few updates, forgot when they added those.

I'll answer about the buried caches. :)

There are two main things you get. You can get a species record which goes in your inventory. You can "open" it and it will give you nanites, usually about 50-75 of them. Or it can give you X-class modules. OR, it can give you a sentinel boundary map that you can use to easily find a sentinel pillar and turn off the sentinels on the planet until you leave it, which can definitely come in handy.

The other is a piece of damaged equipment which when disassembled in your inventory will give you metals of some kind. It can be gold, silver, platinum, rusted metal, copper, cadmium, indium, emeril, and probably a few others I'm not remembering.

For me, because I don't "farm" anything, the caches are a good source of nanites, so I seek them out. The metals can come in handy, too, and the sentinel maps are a bonus. I don't know whether this counts as "interesting," but it's what you can get. :)

Yeah they do comes in handy, when you needed those hard to get resources. I was playing differently, when i started out, i patch the starting ship and abandoned it (pretend it damage beyond repair). So i head out and roam all over the place, then find a weckage ship and patch it up, etc. Really useful on the starting planet though, but vary depending on the planet though and regions too.

I love digging these up. So many buried treasures in the game now. I use a mod that puts the salvaged data inside the damaged machinery, but the caches, salvagable scrap, ancient bones and the historical sites, it's how I make most of my units.
