No one around ANYWHERE.
By myself everywhere, no compatibility warnings, did a Steam reinstall. Nothing, still no one around anywhere. Yeah.

If you're not in the Anomaly, not on an expedition, and not very near the core of the galaxy, then it is extremely unlikely to run into someone by accident.
Have you lost internet connection? Or is Steam Offline? Network settings in game also has a enable or disable option for multiplayer. Without multiplayer on no players will appear but you will still see other player bases etc.

Yeah like the comment above. You can be very very far from any players if you say go through a black hole or travel further than the start galaxy (any other galaxy)

Hi, i came back on NMS 2 days ago and i can't see anyone on the anomaly. Multiplayer is on, i reboot my game several time but nothing happen. Is there any secondary quest that can block multiplayer ? Oh and btw, when i try to connect to a friend session on the menu it doesn't work either. I even tried to desactivate my firewall but it's still the same. Does anyone know what's happening ?

Are either of you using a VPN? If you are, even if multiplayer is turned on, you won't see other players anywhere, including on the Anomaly. I'm also assuming you wouldn't be able to connect to other people's games, either. (I don't know for sure about that, because I don't do multiplayer. I just like to "people-watch" in the Anomaly sometimes.)

If it isn't something as simple as that, there are other recent threads about this issue, and I think in at least one of them there was a fix that worked for at least one person, too. So, check out some recent similar threads.

Ding, ding, ding we have a winner. Thank you. I just started using a VPN.

You're welcome. :)

And yeah, you'll need to switch off the VPN in order to see anyone else in the game. Usually, I don't want to anyway, so I just leave mine on if I've turned it on, but sometimes I want to do some people/ship-watching in the Anomaly, so I turn it off just before going into the Death Star and then turn it back on when I leave. I'm assuming that if you can't see anyone, they also can't see you, and if that's the case and you want to do MP, then obviously you'll need to turn off the VPN for that, too. Having the VPN on doesn't affect the Discovery Service, though, at least not so far as I can tell.

The game is MASSIVE, like larger than you can comprehend. go to an anomoly to see other people. Its doubtful you would every run across anyone in game unless its at the galactic core.
