Nautilon move down button?
Did they remove the ability to go straight up and down in the Nautilon or is it just really well hidden?

!st person Controller in Nautilion is improbable to submerge You point the camera all the way down and let go of joystick and as the re-centering occurs, you take a dip and pop back up.
3rd Person, the Steer button has inverted L/R and the (Settings in Control as LOCKED) look button pointing downward will bottom the sub, look button pointing toward surface will shoot it to the surface. Settings in Control as TETHERED and in 3rd person are the go to for now if you want to stay dry and be underwater.. Popping back to 1st person once in a deep pond, mining is the same no-go as posted in the sticky about the Mino if 1st person. !st person any exocraft with a controller is nerfed/bugged/or not fully realized by HG as an issue, or some combo of the WIP approach.

Good news is the Right R3 Horn works just fine. Minotaur is jealous.

Tried kbm and was challenged as my setting for mouse sensitivity and inverted control make it a learning curve but my guess is for ppl exp'ed in kbm it is fine.
The main issue with controlling the Exocraft is actually the camera, at least in my personal experience. With a camera mod that makes exocraft cameras decent, the controls themselves also feel a lot better. At least with Mouse and KB.
This is especially true for me in the Nautlon and the Minotaur, which have the absolute worst 3rd person camera settings of all the exocraft.

I've loaded up NMS 72673 and the Mino is just as expected in first person. Camera only moves the turret just as it does in 3rd person. And has full range of motion within the cockpit. 3rd person is not flawed imo.

4.14 and all things 4.12 Fractal have introduced some tweaks to improve game play and extensibility for other platforms but has made 1st person a non option on PC with controller..
The Camera re-centering in on Controller is out of norm and will aim all the way to the roll bar of the Exo's yet will not move beyond a horizontal dictated by the CGCAMERAGLOBALS. It will get sorted.

Playing around with a camera mod; If I set this value to "0", my Mech will not move legs.

Desired Outcome.
I'm using the Left to steer and the Right to Look. At some point the 1st person Camera functions were added to allow steer assigned to the Look (Joystick).
IMO- Look and Steer should be isolated, But I assume it was HG attempt to get the 3rd person camera to follow and recenter that has imposed this 1st Person challenge.

You didn't change anything camera related to 0, you changed the Throttle Strength to 0 (for First person mode)....of course it stopped moving. LOL

My test on the Sub was without mods

Edit: After new push to Modified – GAMEDATA/PCBANKS/NMSARC.59B126E2.pak (+409 B) took a swim in the Sub without fuel. Fish Tornado. Controller sill not submerging the Sub in First Person.

My Bad. You see this correct, I have an existing Mod that deals with the parameters for the Mech "GCVEHICLEGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN".

However, HG has put "Steer" functions on the "Look" Stick. Hence having to / wanting to tell the Mech to stand still! while I am tweaking the "GCCAMERAGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN" in the same Mod..
Sorry for the confusion.
Space bar will make it go up. Moving down has always been weird for me.... sometimes it sinks like a rock. Sometimes I have to practically ram the ocean floor to get it to stay down.
