Max amount of multi-tools?

This baffles me that there is almost no information about this anywhere, whats the multi tool limit?

I play now for 1.5 years and in this time the max is 6, and all my first results in Google point to 6 - maybe you have the wrong search term or serch engine ;-)

I have six on my main save so I can safely say that the number is six. The problem with a lot of stuff we read on line is that it's OLD and outdated, especially with this game.

The top result that I get in a search for "No Man's Sky Maximum Multi-tools" is the same as @KillingTime indicated. And it says Six. You can even spell multi-tool as multitool or multi tool and you'll still get the same result. You can also switch the word "Maximum" in the search for "limit" and STILL get the same result, which says six.

I'm kind of baffled on what search parameters were used to find the older result, because I couldn't get it to come up with an answer of 3 no matter how I phrased the question.

But yes, in 2021 it was 3.
