Windows 10 "Cannot Connect to Matchmaking"

I've officially tried everything. I'm posting this from brand new Windows 10, brand new install of the game, cannot connect to any friends or see anyone on the anomaly. Have been completely unable to connect for months, every other game works just fine. Only this. Anyone?

check if your firewall is blocking an HG server

I’m American, used to play this all the time. I have reinstalled everything including windows. Firewall is completely open and turned off. Windows defender has the game specifically whitelisted and is also turned off. VPN no dice. I can see my NMS friends sometimes, and can attempt to join via Steam Overlay but it fails. After this fails, my friends are visible in the multiplayer menu but still cannot be joined.

I am NOT running compatibility mode. I know this completely hides the network settings entirely. The update where they removed support for 7/8.1 is exactly what took me out.
Is this some bug because my CD key is technically from 7 and it was upgraded to 10? That’s the only explanation I have and I’m not buying a new key for this game.

Windows key? No. I'be been using the same Windows keys since Windows 7 all the way up to Windows 11. This has no effect on Windows functionality. Windows either accepts the key or it doesn't. And once Windows is activated it's fully functional.

does cleaning ur saves from saves folder help, move whole folder to different place

also remember to disable cloud for NMS

This may or may not help but since the waypoint update I have been without MP because of NMS reporting that i'm on unsupported hardware "which i'm not" i'm running Win10 done everything and checked everything nothing worked.... until the other week when all i did was D/L the steam client ( not a update ) and just reinstalled steam straight over the top of my existing installation and now everything is working fine.

Now this may be just working for my system and it may or may not work for anyone else but it's worth a try at lest.

by the way u have been using mbin compiler or save editors, (AMUMSS contains mbin compiler)?

seems like u had funky steam install.

This is super weird. Are you running any third part antivirus/security/firewalls apps? You literally just install NMS and play it, like any other game, there is no need for VPN or any special firewall or any other tweaks. I even have multiple network interfaces on my PC for Internet (Wi-Fi) and LAN and I didn't have to do anything special, NMS just runs and connects without any issues. There must be a reason for this. Have you copied any settings besides saved games from the previous PC? Is it really "clean install"?

Oh god, please stop this... this is not even funny any more... I've used MBINCompiler and Save Editor for months. There is nothing wrong with them as multiple people have been trying to explain to you. It's in your head. Please stop spreading misinformation and confusing people.

Windows Defender works ,, no need to disable it.. NMS is alway inbound in the whitelist
Just a guess ,, is it possible that you have ProcessLasso installed ?

No iv never used mbin compiler or a save editor, and as far as i can now tell it must have been something that conflicted between NMS ( when waypoint was released) and steam? because every other game is fine, and i'm just going out on a limb here but I don't think the OP would have been neither

Op, I use a VPN 24/7 on Router. Sometime between Jan 6th, 2023 and Jan 20 2023 something changed and I can no longer see anybody on the Anomaly while the router based VPN WireGuard is running. Turn it off, and busy Anomaly, Keep it off and launch Windows OpenVPN, still good.

So there is only thing hindering my connection to Matchmaking and Normal Anomaly traffic. WireGuard! And I'm done testing and revealing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've submitted a ZenDesk report and updated it and have not yet received so much as a posit from HG. It's their severs to run an manage so I respect their silence as much as an actual answer.
