[Resolved] Black Screen with OBS Studio 29.0.2

Anyone using OBS Studio v29.0.2 to record NMS? Are you seeing the same issue I am?

After updating OBS Studio from v28.1.2 yesterday, the OBS preview screen, and the recorded display, are black - but only when playing NMS. Several other games (all I have tested) still work normally with OBS.

The behavior is the same with the OBS Source set to either Game Capture or Display Capture. The preview screen shows the display contents until NMS is started, then immediately goes black. If I Alt+Tab out of the game, the preview screen begins to update as expected, then freezes when I return to the game.

This is with the latest Fractal update, which worked fine with OBS until OBS was updated.

I've found some OBS bug reports of black screen for preview & recording in the past, but the details are quite different and don't seem to provide a fix or workaround.

I know, it sounds weird. But my Voices assure me that I'm not crazy...

Resolved: since posting this, I have learned that OBS Studio can record NMS gameplay video when NMS setting for Window Mode is Bordered or Borderless, but NOT Fullscreen. There may have been a change for OBS Studio v29.0.2, or possibly my NMS settings got modified somehow. Setup OBS Studio > Sources with "Game Window" and then, with NMS running, select "Window: NMS.exe".

Hope that helps anyone with a similar problem who finds this thread.
