Maybe thrice.
Thus far tried only once on the switch and died to something stupid (i forget what it was) and lost the save there. I earned the achievement on Steam and GoG honestly but long before the difficulty increase a short while ago. If there were achievements like on steam on the switch I would try it again but until then I will keep playing my normal save.
That one at least makes sense, get too close to a grenade and all. My spaceman died on Utopia by zapping a sentinel riding the grill of a Nomad -- surprise cannon fodder!
well, I have done that. Your grave is in space - actually happened to me playing the new expedition as I tried to get away from sentinels in the POS ship they gave me. LOL. I am not adept at shooting and never have played any game that requires it.
I spawned back on a planet with my ship busted up and some stuff lost and had to fix it. It wasn't so bad, but annoying. I hate getting killed, but that just teaches me to be more careful next time.
tl/dr: the key to outrunning the sentinel ships is to build up your engines efficiency and boost capabilities... efficiency so you don't consume the fuel so fast and boost increase so you can go faster while holding the boost button...
FWIW: don't confuse boost with pulse... boost makes you go fast in normal space... pulse uses the pulse engines which makes streak lines which are similar to but not the same as seen when warping...
