Find one portal glyph, find a portal. Enter all zeros and it's a few hops from the core.
Find a traveller, talk to them, find a point of interest (traveller grave) and get a glyph.

Then find a portal.

Doing it the long slow way it's a very long trip indeed.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not that far into the story, been ignoring the story actually. I will try and get to that point then do what you suggested. Thank you

When in the galaxy map you'll see a number in the top left; likely something around 700,000. This is your distance from center. Divide that by the number shown by your hyperdrive in the ship inventory screen. That's how many jumps you have left. (probably over 1,000 jumps).

If you get a freighter, you can upgrade the hyperdrive by visiting derelict freighters. I have upgraded mine to 3,887 so far... makes jumping quicker and then I also make use of the black holes and then call my freighter once I've made several jumps closer that way.

Let's find out. One, T-whooo, three, <kzzzt>. Three licks.

A tip for galaxy jumps, buy a ship and a multitool that you don’t want and store your exosuit upgrades and swap to the other ship/multitool that you bought because when you warp, all tech, except for freighters gets damaged

2 hours 53 minutes when starting a custom game that skips tutorial. Provided you know the game.

I may try and reduce it.

I buy a ship and multitool I want and strip the ugly starter set of anything I added so it's just the basics. Then just repair what's needed for flight, swap the multitool without repairs, and reinstall exosuit upgrades. My starter multitool is always broken and the ship always has broken shields and photon cannons.

On the subject of getting to the core, summon the Anomaly, go to it's transporter. sort by Anomaly and select each one in turn to get the info card to find a base with core or anything like journey end in the name of the base planet or system, teleport to the player base that has something like that if present or if none then any one of them just to see where you end up because it might not have anything related to the core noted but just be a few hops away. Repeat a few times and you will find one.

Easy way to galaxy hop as well but takes more trips to the Anomaly to find a base in another galaxy.

If you wold have done the main storyline then you would know that there are only 16 minutes left.

The first galaxy is like a million light years in radius, and you typically start around 700k light years from the core. Doing it the long way is ridiculous, and not only that, impossible, as you will eventually find out.

impossible? Hardly. Can typically be done in under 400 jumps in the properly maxed out ship.

A fully upgraded S-Class Freighter can travel more than 5500 ly per jump. That works out to between 120 and 130 jumps to the Core (from 700,000 ly). Far from impossible.

I just made the trip with an A-Class Freighter that gets a little over 4900 ly per jump. Took around 140 jumps, about 3-1/2 Warp Hypercores and a little over two hours (Hilbert to Calypso).

Well everyone has their point where they will say bleep-this time to get a portal :)
I did it once and I am not going to do that again even with a 14000 LY jump freighter.

LOL, no way I'm doing 140 jumps, it sounds mind numbing. Do people really do that??? The first time around I used black holes during the Atlas mission and it was very quick. The second time I just portaled to a planet near the center. No way I'm jumping for hours. I'd rather watch my plants grow, ha ha!
