If it's not listed on the planetary resource it's not three, try a different planet. It seems some volcano planets do not have it.

It's all down to luck really. You only get it on volcanic worlds and even those that list it as a resource don't always have it - or if they do, it's so rare it's almost impossible to find. It's only used for the amplifier thing on your multitool anyway, but that's a handy tech to have.

Best advice - keep looking on different plants and hopefully you'll find some eventually.

Not on every vulcano planet is Basalt. If you scan a planet from space or on the planet's surface and Basalt is listed as a resource then there is Basalt. You will find it when scanning rocks or scanning for resource deposits. Maybe you have to try at several spots, it may be more rare than other resource.

If you scan the planet and Basalt is not listet then their is no Basalt.

Isn't Basalt a Mine-able Resource Only???? (Has to be found with the Sub-Surface Scan F-1,or 3.?)
The Rocks are, to my understanding, Ferrite, and Pure Ferrite, with a Possible Secondary Mineral in some of Phosphorus, or other mineral..?

Shows on the Ship scan "C" from Space...

(Hot Spot... Wouldn't come to mind)

No, there are planets with mine-able deposits even after the 4.0 update.
==========
The EASIEST way to locate ANY resource is to use the in-game CATALOGUE and PIN the material you're looking for:

Terrain Manipulator Find? Don't recall seeing those.

while you are in your ship in space, scan all planets, it will show you in planet's list if has Basalt, its the rarest material.
While in the planet, you find it like other materials like copper, uranium, e.t.c.
To extract it you need ''terrain mainpulator'' .

Basalt question pops up from time to time. If the search becomes too frustrating and too time consuming just to craft one upgrade, and if you don't mind doing this, go to the Anomaly and ask, maybe someone will have some spare resources that you need. Some people object to this, but I've seen people asking for help with rare resources on the Anomaly. You can trade something if you don't like freebies.

Just be aware that some "charitable" players on the Anomaly like to give away ridiculously large amounts of very expensive items without asking which irks many players.

Thank you guys!
I will use all the tips and continue the search

Is there a Particular Reason to gather Basalt??
It is not a Fuel, in has no Great Value in Trade, and it is not a Crafting Component.

I have not looked for it since my Save with a Mine for it was deleted...

Basalt is used for one ship technology, that's it.
You need a very tiny amount of it.
You can also get it by buying that ship tech and dismantling it. Forget which one it is but check the wiki.
But yeah it's more fun to find it, especially as it's found on such sketchy planets.
