What price increase? Unless you are from Argentina, since they had a major price adjustment in most games.

The games always been $60. They just put it on sale for half off every patch.

On Jan. 6th, a number of currencies were re-adjusted, most up but a few down. You can find price histories here: https://steamdb.info/app/275850/

If you saw an increase, you're in a country that had value adjusted. Regardless, the game's on 50% sale everywhere.

It was always $50 CND and on sale for $25 CND. It is now $78 CND and on sale for $39. I own it on GOG and had been considering buying it on steam but now that the prices increased lol not buying on steam.

A quick comparison shows that that price is accurate, considering USD is the anchor price. The Jan. 6th adjustment was to compensate for changes in currency value. Blame exchange rates.

Sounds like someone was adjusting for currency inflation then. Probably gonna happen everywhere (not just Steam), to all games eventually... Sorry to tell you.

As a Canadian it for sure went up in price but technically it's still cheaper right this moment from direct USD to CAD Conversion. What really sucks on top of the increase is this year we are paying taxes on top of it so that hits it hard also.

We have been paying tax on steam for a long time now. I was disappointed when they started adding tax to Green Man Gaming site... around 6 months ago

i have bought over 200-300 keys from: cdkeys, gmg, fanatical, gamivo, etc. with no issues

in those instances those keys are stolen and sold and once discovered, revoked by Valve. Never go to shady key resellers, they are not to be trusted.

Officially licensed key sellers like humblebundle or fanatical can get you keys on a discount, humblebundle even has a long term subscription option that once unlocked provides an additional discount on top of any other discount when a game you like is on sale, in addition to the free games each month from the subscription. i can tell you that subscription is very valuable considering some games are very expensive to get otherwise.
