anyone else noticing a sort of after image on moving objects after the new update?
i dont know why but now im starting to see afterimages on moving objects ( objects in motion that instead of being removed per frame are instead carried over and given a degrading image decay every new frame till the object is no longer visable )

There were some texture corruption issues fixed on the experimental branch. Maybe try it and see if the issue goes away?

If what you're seeing is what is known as "ghosting" (what you describe sounds like it), it could indicate a problem with your monitor/display.

First thing I'd check is that connection between your PC and display device are properly secured (i.e. plugged in tightly at both the PC and display ports). Sometimes the plugs slowly come loose over time, and it can cause ghosting.

Another thing to try is just disable motion blur, in graphics settings for the game, as what you're seeing could be a relic of motion blur not quite being processed right.

Try reducing motion blur. I noticed something similar to you and turning it down to 10 seemed to fix it.

Edit: Yeah, like Jaggid Edje just said!

motion blur is always disabled and the problem only started after fractals launch

Did you double check it? I've had game settings revert after a game update, so it is possible it is not disabled now if you haven't double checked.

If you enable either TAA or FSR antialiasing, you'll get some level of ghosting from earlier frames. If it is not happening anywhere else, it's probably not a monitor or cable issue.

only happens in game, stops when going into the menus

Most of the anti aliasing options create this effect. it sucks, but I've learned to ignore it.

Also I'm using an 11 year old 42inch 1080p TV as my monitor so that isn't helping matters. But it's true 120hz so at least it has that going for it...

someone reported this yesterday and included an image of what they were seeing... they switched from DLSS and the ghosting went away for them... i had mentioned motion blurring to them but that was apparently not it... i don't recall their GPU, drivers, or what they switched to from DLSS...
