Message on screen at crash states "Primary Exocraft Switched" then returns to Steam NMS load screen.
Do they testing the new update before release ???
"No Man's Sky has stopped working
Hang on while Windows reports the problem to Microsoft..."
The progress bar then fills with a jerk, and the text in the small note box changes to read:
"No Man's Sky has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I must then click on the "CLOSE PROGRAM" button beneath the text for the display to vanish and return the screen display to the Steam Library page.
My CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.1 GHz) and my Graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti) are both up to date... backed by 16 GB DDR4 RAM. The game worked flawlessly, with absolutely no stutters the day before the FRACTAL UPDATE was automatically downloaded and installed by STEAM. My game graphics settings all defaulted to ULTRA when I first began playing back in 2012, but I'd set a couple of them down to HIGH to increase speed and performance. I also had set BLUR to 0.
With this constant error/game-stopping/error notification and the display defaulting back to Steam desktop, I figured that something about the game update graphics was making massive increased processing demands. I tried to resolve the problems by reducing ALL of the graphics settings to the lowest possible option (STANDARD), but I continue to experience the exact same error/game-stopping/error notification every time.
The ONLY thing different between game play on Tuesday 21 Feb 2023 and Wednesday 22 Feb 2023 was the FRACTAL UPDATE. My PC game play was absolutely flawless before the update, and completely broken AFTER the update. I've got nearly 2,000 hours of NMS game play under my belt, but until something drastically changes, my time in NMS is apparently ended despite my desire to continue.
