Best way to get ship cargo expansions?
So Im learning that scrapping a ship can net you an augmentation, but it seems maybe theres a minimum value requirement, like 8mil or something. What are some other ways to get cargo mods for my ship? Cuz farming and reping ships to scrap them cant be the fastest way haha

you could always dupe the hard things if you're willing to face the consequences (only if you care). i tend to use the 3 portable refiner trick. it works for me. there are utubes out there.

Disclaimer, I have not done this in a couple of months. But in a system, every ship of the same name and class has the same number of storage augments. I went to a system (not Gek as I did not want a lot of haulers), and bought and scrapped every ship and kept a log of what every ship dropped. After that whenever I needed storage augments I could just go to that system and only buy the ships that had the storage augments.

If this still works, you will need to set your price point on the ships you will want to buy and then log all the ships in the system that meet your price point.

Also there used to be a system in Galaxy 10, that had a double exotic first spawn that was pretty good for farming storage augments.

This was before Waypoint 4.0 so I am not sure if any of this still works.

Not saying 100%, but almost always Exotics =2, A Shuttles with 34+ at least 1.

ah maybe thats what i saw. I salvaged a small ship and didnt get one, but then a freighter gave me one. it mustve had at least 30 slots.

Go to an outlaw system as they have higher S-class spawn rate than normal systems. Find a trade post on a planet. Fill up your slots with S-class ships. Go to the station. Park your freighter in front of it. Scrap all the ships. Repeat as needed. While s-class do not necessarily give you more augmentations, the modules they produce are worth good nanites, either by using them yourself or selling them.

Also, go to the mission agents. There are missions that will give you storage augments. They aren't common but they're there.

Just to clarify my "A Shuttles" meant A-class Shuttles. I don't think I've gotten augs from less than A-class no matter how many slots.

I can confirm B class freighter gives storage aug.

Thanks, where can i exchange items for nanites?
I was talking about the technology blueprints. You can sell them at technology traders, just select the sell option in the trade menu.

The app Assistant for No Man's Sky gives percentages per class/type for scraps from ships.

Also, you can reset the mission until you get a mission with a storage augmentation as a potential reward for some of them. It is a hit and miss method but does work.

I've used that method for augments and salvaged frigate mods. Note that you will take a rep hit if it's a delivery mission, so don't reset those. If you haven't reached max level you can also end up resetting the mission above your rep level so keep that in mind.

Lower settings to free and then you can augment your ship as many times you want. :) Then put settings back to standard.
