Early game they can be a problem, install the conflict scanner, avoid high conflict and pirate systems.
Four shield modules make a big difference as does keeping those shields charged.
There's another upgrade that blocks sentinel ships from scanning your cargo, useful if you haul contraband. (also Nexus)
Most references on the web and in my experience in gaming, cheesing is about winning and/or defeating and opponent or NPC unfairly.
Your definition is very structured! Did you copy it from a source, or is it just your interpretation?
Here's a typical one found on the web:
"The term "cheesing" is often used in gaming, especially in the context of cheating or using unfair strategies to win. In this context, "cheesing" likely refers to the use of cheap or low-quality tactics to win"

Warping out of a battle you aren't going to survive is not about stealing a win though, right? It could be construed as surviving to fight another day. Or maybe a realization that your shields are not up to snuff yet. Or maybe you accidentally hit the space station with your cannons and now four sentinels have joined the fight and it is no longer a fight you wish to continue. Do you have room for scenarios where its not about winning unfairly or being a coward in a cheesy fashion but instead making a rational, logical decision?
Idk if i ever will come back to this game, use to be relaxing and exploring each systems, planets, etc. But now it turn out to be killing zones almost everywhere you go, no fun at all. Btw i was playing on survivable mode, was doing okay until they beef up so much after that last big updates.
Good job HG, really killed the game!
Copper is pretty easy to come by so is it your mining beam is too large and your not getting enough per pit site or are you using the automatic mining machine ?
Doing it manually with a the smallest beam while consuming time does yield the biggest amount in the most reasonable time frame as does picking the plot site dry (you can always turn excess silicon into glass and sell it, build with it, etc ).
Buy wirelooms along the way to build up reserves as it isnt only used for fixing your ship.
Its important to realise that when you start out that your very much metaphorically just a peasant farmer without an actual farm. That your metaphorically a resident of a planet that is unable to take on the might of the empire.
The point im getting at is would you travel across a desert without taking water, the type that hopes to find some along the way without knowing if any exists at all.
Be prepared not just in what is to come but to also make an effort if you want to experience the game naturally.
What do you mean by "survivable mode"?
Killing zones everywhere??? Nope. Not true. You haven't tried to get to know the game enough, you just seem to rage quit. They did not "kill the game". It's quite the opposite, they made the game more accessible and easier. After the latest updates, you can simply play Custom Game and adjust the combat difficulty and lower the enemy strength in the Difficulty Settings or even disable the combat altogether if combat ruins the exploration for you. You can keep the survival aspects of the game on high difficulty even, but without combat. So you can enjoy survival challenges but without excessive fighting. You can even change the settings back to whatever you want during the game later on. I'm playing a relaxing game with minimal combat.
HG basically built cheats into the game. I'm fairly old too for a gamer, but unlike you I'm not looking for challenges in games any more, I like easy games now, so the recent updates made it possible for me to come back to NMS, it was indeed too hard before.
I see people complaining about NMS being hard for three main reasons:
1) They start right away in Survival Mode and then complain that the game is too hard for them.
2) They don't get familiar with the new game settings so they don't realize that the difficulty and gameplay are extremely customizable now.
3) They experience bugs... er... yeah, this complaint is valid
Creative is too easy, even for me, as everything is free and all blueprints are know since the get go. I play Custom Mode with some survival elements on normal, normal prices but minimal combat.
If you find the highest NMS settings to be too easy then you're an "above average" gamer, despite your age. You need to stick to Dark Souls
I don't engage them. I run away, calling the anomaly on the rare instances I can't outrun them. You can also set the space combat to minimal (or even off, though you'll miss out on a free freighter via rescue). I sometimes play in that mode.
I was also surprised, there were some nice tips in the first post.
